The Fire Starter

We finally reach the Laboratory and we finally meet Professor Burgh.

" Hey Professor please to meet you personally" Professor Jack greeted.

" I'm glad to meet you too, Professor, Welcome to Hoenn Region". Professor Burgh said.

" Hey Professor, I'm glad to introduce Maxim, the son of your friend Orion. He's the one recommended by Director Misty to become a trainer today and he chooses your Laboratory to be his guiding light in his new adventure."

" Ohh, Hi, I'm Professor Burgh! and your?"

" I'm Maxim, or Max for short." I replied with a smile.

" Max your dad was a great friend of mine, he does help me a lot in the past mostly in my research". He added.

" Dad does not tell stories often, I'm glad to hear it though." I said.

" Are you ready to become a new Pokemon trainer?" he asked.

" Yes!" I answered.

" Come on, follow me."

We went inside the office building and I was so amazed with how attractive the place was and everything was high tech.

Professor Burgh pushed a button and three small capsules appeared. Then the glass capsule contains PokeBall each.

" What do you want in there?" Professor Jack asked.

" Is it blind pick to choose a starter pokemon?" I asked curiously.

" Look at the small dots it has various colors, Red is for Fire type, Blue is for Water type and Green is Grass type." Prof. Burgh said.

Then I remembered what I read at the Hoenn Pokedex Magazine. Torchic is fire, Mudkip is Water and Treecko is Grass. It takes me a while to think of choosing the best partner for me.

" I know dad is a solid water type Pokemon trainer and breeder, so if I choose water type it would be easier to train that pokemon.

Then I think and think and think .....

" If I choose Grass, I cannot cope up easily since I have no knowledge in it, the same with Fire types."

Think... Think..... It is very hard...

After a while, I finally decided on the pokemon to be my partner in my journey.

" Professor, I have decided, I will choose the pokeball with a red dot." I said.

" Are you sure?" Prof. Burgh asked.

" Hey Max, your dad is a Water type trainer, why not choose the blue one, it would be a perfect partner to you." Prof. Jack said.

" I want to be challenged by this decision, I want to prove myself that I can handle and able to train other type of pokemon." I bravely answered.

" So if that is your final decision, please grab the pokeball and summon it out." Prof. Burgh said.

I grab the pokeball and speak, Hey buddy I am you new partner and we will become the best duo ever. Then I summon the pokemon out,

Toooorrr...

Chiccc...

" Good choice Max!, Congratulations for becoming a new Pokemon Trainer." Prof. Jack said and Pat my head.

" Thank you professors, I'll promise that I will be taking good care of this pokemon."

" I wish you a good luck on your journey as a pokemon trainer, and please don't hesitate to visit us again!" Prof. Burgh said.

" Thank you Professor!" I said.

" Thank you Professor!" Prof. Jack said and shook hands with Prof. Burgh.

After finishing some paperwork and registering me at the Pokemon Trainer Database, My Pokedex notofied me and finally registered Torchic as my first Pokemon in the Dex.

We check in to the nearby Hotel since we are staying here for three consecutive days. I went to my room and fetch my things. I also summon out Torchic.

" Chiccc, Chiccc, Torrchiccc."

" Hey bud, I am so happy to become your partner, I'll promise you that I will take good care of you.

" chicccc, torchicc."

" Let's be the best duo ever! "

" Torchiicccc!!!"

I hugged my first pokemon before going to sleep.
