On my own

Yesterday, Professor headed to Kalos Region, so it means that this is the first time that I am on my own, First thing I've done is to update my parents since I did not contact them for a week. As the video call starts, I greeted all of them in the house and told them about my experience in the past week. Mom and Dad were very happy for me and I don't see any worries on their faces not until I said that Professor Jack was on a plane going to Kalos, Mom's face turn into anxious, and started talking about me how I will start my day to day routine, the needs, my safety, and other things. Dad calmly told Mom not to worry a lot, he knows I can do it myself. I introduced them to my Pokemon; Torchic and Seedot, and both of them are glad to see that I have my Pokemon already. Dad was surprised that I didn't choose a water type Pokemon as a starter and instead a fire type. I just simply said that It would be a challenge for me to have a Fire type starter, as I said that I remember that I had to familiarize my Torchic's Ability and to know its real power. So I said goodbye to Mom and Dad and ended the call to start reading articles about my starter.

I finished my breakfast and fed my Pokemon, I went to my phone and read the article about Fire Type Pokemon Characteristics and said the following;

In Offense

During harsh sunlight or extremely harsh sunlight, the power of Fire-type attacks is increased by 50%. The power of Fire-type attacks is decreased by 50% during rain, while all Fire-type moves will fail during heavy rain. When Water Sport is in effect, the power of Fire-type moves is decreased by 67%. When used under the effect of Powder, Fire attacks will damage the user by 1/4 of its max HP instead of executing normally.

Fire is super effective against Steel, the type with the most defensive coverage. Because Fire is super effective against Grass and Bug, it combines well with Ground-type attacks.

In Defense

Very few Fire-type Pokémon have a secondary type that negates their weakness to Water-type attacks. On the other hand, most Fire types can learn Solar Beam to counter all three of the type's weaknesses. Fire has six resistances, the second most of any type after the Steel-type. Five of these resistances are shared with Steel, making Fire/Steel the type combination with the most double resistances.

The Fire type grants immunity to burns and the sea of fire caused by Grass Pledge and Fire Pledge. It enables the use of Burn Up, though Burn Up removes the user's Fire type.

Now I found out that Torchic is the only pure Fire type on its Evolutionary line and its evolution is fire type and fighting type. That thing makes it all interesting so I might be able to adopt fighting type skills to Torchic to enhance its potential.

After spending time reading some important articles I went to the nearby park with my goal for today to train my starter Pokemon; Torchic.

I summoned it and discussed what are the things we will work on. Luckily I have good obeying Pokemon so we started by doing work on its offense, I trained in its ability to launch explosive attacks, using a tree as a target, and I ordered Torchic to use ember. We did not stop until the tree falls and Torchic fire it emits grows bigger and more powerful, again and again, until I saw that huge amount of fire that took down that tree and burned it down.

" Yes, that's it! you learn a new move buddy! " I gladly applaud Torchic.

" Torrr .. chiccc.."

It learned Fire Spin.

I am very happy about what progress we've done today and I am hoping to improve its speed later.

" We should be a strong duo buddy, we must be stronger than anyone, We will be the greatest."

" Toorrrr.. chicc..."

After the training, we take our lunch in the park and while enjoying our meal, something stumbles on us and bothers my attention.

Between the bushes a Pokemon just appeared on us, it was a Mudkip, I scan it to my Pokedex to register it.

Mudkip is a small, quadrupedal amphibious Pokémon that resembles mudskipper fishes and axolotls. It is cyan blue in color, with a light blue neck, underbelly and tail. It has a large upright segmented fin atop its head, and large orange cheeks with three pointed whisker-like feelers on each. It has short legs and small paws with three toes on each, and a very large fin-like tail.

I wonder who left this beautiful Pokemon here, maybe he lost from his trainer. I slowly approach it and as I move closer it attacks me with water gun.

" ... kipp... "

A loud scream of it sounded throughout the place and shook me and Torchic, I stayed calm even of its wild nature and give him some treats.

At first, it was hesitant to get the treats and once I earn its trust he launches itself to the food and eat them all. I was so surprised about it, it is a hungry one so I added more food. I fell in love with it already and watch it finish its food. he's so cool. An idea came to my mind, maybe I could find his trainer here and if it does not have any, I will be his trainer. I want it!

After mudkip finished its food, I carried him in my arms, I and Torchic went for a walk to locate his trainer. An hour has passed but every person we asked told that they do not own it. We refused to give up so we extended our walk for another hour to find his owner but no one told a positive note to us. It's getting dark so I decided to take him to the hotel.

Soon as the sun rises, I decided to find the trainer of Mudkip but I was unable to find its owner until someone approached me. A security guard from the nearby shack went to us and said that mudkip was there in their place regularly and asked for some food. They always give him a spare of food and those employees glad that mudkip was safe.

" Hey, young man? That mudkip is our regular customer."

" Really? I thought that this is your Pokemon". I replied to the guard.

" Nope, That Pokemon is a stray one, it comes by our store and searches for or steals some food from us, on the first time we totally wanted to catch it and surrender it to the local authorities, but we instead help it and give some food regularly" he replied.

" Can I ask you a question? Sir", I said.

" What is it?", he replied.

" I want to care of it, I want it to be one of my Pokemon." I requested.

" Sure, but first, Ask mudkip."

"Hey, Mudkip, Do you want to be part of my team?" I asked.

"Mudd...kipppp...

"I think it's a yes!" Guard says.

" Okay well then, Let's go Mudkip."

I threw a Pokeball to catch Mudkip, and the Pokeball shakes two times then finally caught it.

"Yes, I caught a Mudkip!"

"Nice work " the security said.

" I had to do something"

"What is it?", the guard asked.

I summoned out Mudkip, Seedot and Torchic. and we went inside of the shack and order some food and at the same time I take that oppurtunity to thank the employees of the store for sparing food for Mudkip, and Mudkip says thanks also to every one of them.

We ended the day and enjoyed the food at the shack.

I have three pokemon in just a week here in Hoenn Region, It's really a good start of my journey as one pokemon trainer dreaming to be the best!
