[Date:1/Nov/2017, Location Echoplex La, 8:30 PM]

"You all had fun right?"

"YES"

"You all want more right?"

"YES"

"Yall Sure?"

"YES,"

"My agent ain't gone be happy about this, but I have a surprise for you lot, Hit it DJ," I told the guy as I jumped up from my sitting position ready to debut another song I had been planning to put out tomorrow.

The plan was to ride the hype of my first show and put out the song allowing it to hopefully blow up alongside First Day Out. Well performing the song a day earlier won't hurt it much, heck it might even help boost the song's numbers.

[RD On Tha Track, Iceberg want a bag, bitch] The tag of the song rang out throughout the speakers surprising everyone in the concert hall. A familiar piano beat started playing but unlike First Day Out it was on a much lighter note. The grin on my face brightened even more after noticing the baffled looks on the faces of those in the crowd.

I could easily tell that some were debating whether this song which took a whole different flow from my earlier one was any good. Surprisingly other than the beat the hall was deathly silent even though with some doubt didn't dare to voice it at this moment. Ignoring the doubt I took off my hoody revealing a white Tank top and a diamond chain with the letters REX.

The glistening chain quickly caught the attention of the crowd especially when they noticed the Ice on my wrist. A silver diamond incrusted rolex with gold accents glittered as the light bounced off them. Ignoring their stunned reaction I adjusted the mask again flicking some of my locs back.

Closing my eyes for a second listening to the melody in my earpiece I internalised the moment. Once I reached the right moment I opened my mouth and started singing the song's first verse. This just happened to be the chorus that makes this song so catchy and would hopefully have the crowd singing along by the second time around.

"We pop out at your party, I'm with the gang,

And it's gon' be a robbery, so tuck ya chain,

I'm a killer, girl, I'm sorry, but I can't change,

We ain't aimin' for your body, shots hits your brain,

We come from poverty, man, we ain't have a thing,

It's a lot of animosity, but they won't say my name,

Them killers rock with me, lil' nigga, don't get banged,

'Cause they'll do the job for me while I hop on a plane"

Opening my eyes what met me was a sea of stunned people subconsciously vibing to the song. I could tell that they liked the song with some even turning on their flashlights making it look like a sea of stars. When I rapped the first proper verse of the song the crowd was hooked with most of them going back to dancing.

Some of the more quick-witted people in the audience subconsciously moth my words. By the time the chorus came around 70% of the people in the crowd loudly sang aloud letting their emotions out. Seeing this a small smile appeared on my face but I remained focused on my performance.

Just as the chorus finished I moved my Tiger mask to the front of my face and got right into the last verse. The flow changes quite a bit since in the original song another rapper is featured on the song. So I decided to let Rex perform the final verse of the song. Since he is the one that raps it in the studio version of the song he might as well perform it live.

[Oh-ohh-ohh, yeahI call lil' bro, He said he ready for the stain (said he ready for the stain)

What you claim? You a lame, You ain't never put in pain (put in pain)

So I be around some killers, That go crazy for the gang (they go crazy for the game)

If I showed you all my charges, You won't look at me the same (you won't look at me the same)

Made some choices in my life, I wish I never had to make (wish I never had to make)

Lost my brother, seen him die, And I just seen him graduate (I just seen him graduate)

Got that .40 on my side, And I'm just rollin' past the Jakes (I'm just rollin' past jakes)

Bro, my hands can do the job, And I ain't talkin' masturbate

I was in and outta state (state), 'Cause I had a bag to make (bag to make)

I risked my life but it's aight, 'Cause God ain't let me pass away (pass away)

Fuck tomorrow, spin the block, Just know we comin' back today (back today)I call Drako, he come dolo, we get 'em the fast way]

The crowd was stunned after hearing Rex rap that 12-bar verse completely hooked by the song. His stage presence was even stronger than mine Whilst I have a purple energy when I rap his is a mixture of blue and silver. It resembles lightning in those anime shows when the MC reaches a new power level.

His breath control was surprisingly better than mine despite the fact he was using my body. All in all his delivery had a more experienced feel to it forcing the crowd to dance along. By the time the chorus came for the last time everyone present sang along with me as I took back control.

The sheer volume of their voices singing the catchy chorus was way too loud. I'm pretty sure that if someone was peacefully walking outside the building would be shocked after hearing them. Heck, I was shocked and instinctively jumped back ready to fight someone just in case.

Backstage, the air was thick with congratulations and excitement as Rakim rejoined his entourage of 3. Ella, Zoe, and Chloe had watched his performance with bated breath from a viewing platform. They had watched his entire performance from start to finish, swept up by his on-stage charisma. Thus the moment Rakim had finished his set and introduced X for the main act they headed backstage to meet him.

"You were great out there," Ella told him directly as she enveloped him in a hug not at all minding the sweat dripping from him. Despite being a head shorter she was surprisingly strong not leaving any room for escape for her son.

Ignoring her niece's actions Chloeh began praising Rakim for his powerful performance. Surprisingly she didn't mention anything about him leaking the song a day early as they had discussed the possibility if everything went great. For now, she was content with her artist's performance and left the business side of her job for later.

Rakim soaked up the praise with a grin that split his face, the adrenaline still coursing through his veins. "Thanks, guys. It felt unreal out there," he said, his voice a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. As he stepped back from the embrace, he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, his other hand adjusting the heavy chain around his neck.

"You looked cute out there," Zoe whispered in his ear after a quick hug catching him off guard. He couldn't help himself from gulping after hearing her words as his eyes subconsciously checked her out from head to toe.

Over the month and a half that they had known each other, they got pretty close. Jace tends to be very anti-social especially when dealing with Beverly Hills brats. However, with her outgoing personality, they mesh pretty well with each other.

This is largely because Jace tends to help her shoo away people that bother her. Something about his aura that manages to change from easygoing to dangerous unsettles anyone looking for trouble. That added to the fact he doesn't hide the fact he is from the hood and fresh out of Juvie doesn't help things.

So with Jace only feeling comfortable around her in school, he has subconsciously developed an ambiguous relationship with her. Zoe was the same spending more time with him than she ever thought she would do with a boy.
