What a cruel World

Despite how cliche it may seem, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...literally.

I'm not sure what happened, how I got here, or why I'm not feeling anything, but I know I died.

My name was Tang Yin, I was a well-known scientist. Everyone referred to me as ' The revolutionary Silver', because of my achievements that aided humanity's growth through difficult industrial times.

I'm not sure how or by whom I was murdered or assassinated, but I'm guessing that person had obvious motives. Despite my countless contributions to the advancement of industry, I was still relatively young.

I remained a significant threat to people who did not believe that technology were the next phase in evolution.

Communists, Anarchists, Conservative Socialists, and Imperialists wielded considerable power in politics and, in particular, underground groups, thus I was most likely assassinated by one of those brain-dead organizations.

Nevertheless, the truth remains that I am in an unknown dark location, with a light at the end that appears to be becoming larger and larger. I've also regained my sense of touch, and I have the impression that something is pushing me out of this 'tunnel.'

When I had fully embraced the light, I opened my eyes to discover a man holding me in his arms. I can think of a few odd facts regarding the entire event.

First and foremost, I appear to be an infant...once again, I have no control over my limbs and am wailing hysterically, unable to stop.

The man who was holding me was not even dressed appropriately to assist folks in giving birth...gross.

The place I was in had nothing in common with a hospital; it was a wooden cabin, most likely in the middle of a forest or mountain.

The cabin was well-lit thanks to...lamps? What the hell happened? Is there power in this place? But it doesn't matter.

My supposed mother was delivered to me by the man who was holding me.

And the first thing I noticed about her was her stunning beauty, with silver hair and green eyes.

Despite her stunning appearance, she was crying.

And the tears were not of joy, but of despair. She appeared heartbroken, depressed, and angry...mostly angry with herself. She hugged me tightly and began apologising for several moments.

Even if this woman was a stranger to me, seeing a shattered human being is not the most beautiful sight in the world. My tiny body eventually settled down, and a surge of exhaustion nearly knocked me out.

The woman eventually let go of me and stared at me with tears in her eyes. She smiled for the first time and whispered softly, "Son, welcome to the world. I hope you have a happy life and that you will one day forgive your mother for her folly. I adore you and regret not being able to watch you develop in the future. Lan Xuefeng, I wish you a very happy birthday."

Just as she concluded her sentence, the tears started to flow once more. The mysterious man, who had been standing motionless and emotionless, now spoke. "Bai Mei, we have to hurry."

Hearing these remarks, the lady named Bai Mei flinched. But he continued to nod.

As a result, my second voyage begins, this time under the name Lan Xuefeng, but with the same old Tang Yin.

I finally succumbed to exhaustion and fell asleep. When I awoke, we were already in the cart and on our way.

I arrived at the pretty worn-out house with my mum and a mysterious man.

Bai Mei was clutching me tightly, almost as if she was terrified I'd fall or be stolen.

A mysterious man, whose name I never learned, knocked twice on the door.

The door was unlocked, and a tall, elderly woman stood in front of us. Her hair was completely white, but unlike myself, this was due to her age. She was dressed in a black gown and glasses, exuding wisdom and intelligence.

"Hello, Lady Yang," Bai Mei began, visibly frightened and uneasy.

"I presume that, miss, you came to leave this boy, huh?" said the old lady, her eyes sad and understanding. Lady Yang expressed her sadness in a mournful tone.

"What a cruel world it is... Parents are compelled to abandon their children in orphanages, despite knowing how badly it harms both them and their children. What a harsh world we live in "She grabbed me and looked at me, smiling sweetly with her soft smile, just as the lady concluded.

"What a beautiful baby, you're so adorable," the old lady chuckled.

"Let's get along, okay?" Lady Yang said.

"Did you already name him or do you want me to name him?" remarked the lady to Bai Mei, jolting her out of her trance...or should I say shock condition from her melancholy.

"Oh, he's called Lan Xuefeng!" Uneasy and concerned, my mother responded.

Lady Yang nodded and spoke softly in an aged voice "I appreciate it. Good luck with anything you're dealing with, and I hope to see you again in his life."

Bai Mei was overcome with emotion after hearing these remarks and burst into tears once more. A man attempted to calm her down, but it was futile.

After some time, both parties said their goodbyes, and my mother handed me over to this elderly woman.
