Marvel: Son of Poseidon

The old ones say we Spartans are descendent from Heracles himself. Leonidas gives testament to our bloodline. But Timaeus, his tale is different. If Leonidas is a son of Heracles. Then he is the son of Poseidon.

The Black Devils

XxX Pov Timaeus.

" So, do you want to tell me what these black devils are, exactly?" I asked, D'Racka had led me into his kingdom. It was impressive and had things I had never seen in Greece. Weapons that fired large balls of fire and Swords and spears of different shapes and sizes. It was impressive to say the least.

" The black Devils are a mysterious being that fell from the stars. They traveled through on one of the many meteors that have blessed us with Vibranium and Adamantium. The black devils are symbiotic, needing a human host to move around. Alone they are nothing more than black goop. But with a human host they are faster, stronger, and deadlier than any animal in all of Africa." D'Racka explained.

We continued walking until we came to some kind of level mover.

" Do you like it? I call it an elevator." D'Racka spoke.

" So, these creatures. Do they have a weakness?" I asked the man, trying to move the subject back on course.

" Ah, yes. They do have some weaknesses. One reliable one we've found is sound. They react violently to sound based attacks. And fire very large fires." D'Racka explained.

" I see. I can't produce either. But that's not how I killed the one in the jungle." I told the man.

" I know, you merely disabled the host. That is why I checked it afterwards. However, being able to overpower one with sheer brute force alone is a feat in and of itself."

" Okay, what is your plan to get rid of them. I don't really want to spend too much time here. I have other places I need to go." I told the man.

" Heh. A little patience my friend will go a long way. I know your plight. But if you rush in with an angered mind and untempered reason, you will only fail yourself." D'Racka told me. He seemed wiser than any I have met in Greece, and the fact that his people have made strides in places Greece hasn't even thought of speaks for him and his people. " My scouts have found their main base. You and I are going to go and blow it to the heavens. How does that sound for convenience?" D'Racka asked with a more than smug smirk on his face.

" If it'll get me what I need so be it. When do we leave?" I asked the man.

"As soon as we get you better armed and suited." D'Racka spoke. I guess I was a little underdressed compared to him and his people.

" Alright! Pay attention and listen. The time has come for us to end the threat of the black devils, once and for all. We will assail their compound in the southern regions of Wakanda, just near the Panther shrine. You have your fire. We will plant these fire pikes. We will plant these inside the black devil's crypt and together they will unite a spark that will end the black devils once and for all." D'Racka had been explaining his plan of attack to his troops in the main hall of the panther. While I was sitting behind him in a different room. Once the meeting was done and his forces ready, D'Racka came into the backroom and spoke to me.

" Are you ready to go?" D'Racka asked.

" Of course."

With our goal in mind and preparations made D'Racka and I made our way to the Black Devils nest. I had been given some kind of armor. I did not know what to call it. All I know is it made our greaves and Bracers look weak and frail.

I followed D'Racka through the jungle, he was a fast man. Faster than any human I've ever met. But I was still faster.

The trip was short, and no words were spoken. We were both too focused on the task at hand to speak needless words. D'Racka's people were on the line, and I needed those metals. Nothing else mattered at this point.

We moved in the light of day, so that we could better see our enemies and when we arrived at the Black Devils nest all we saw around it were the littered bones of humans and animals.

" We are here. I hope you are ready son of Poseidon."

" As ready as I'll ever be. Let's get this over with." I ran into the Nest with D'Racka behind me.

He ignited some kind of strange stick that illuminated the walls around us and.

" By the gods." There were small black creatures all over the place." I mumbled in shock.

" Focus, this is only one entrance. My people are currently focused on drawing their attention. We must be fast." D'Racka spoke.

" Well, they didn't do a very good job, because we've got incoming!" I shouted. As I had seen a horde of those same black creatures running at us.

D'Racka pulled some kind of device out of his pocket and threw it at the horde. The tunnel was then filled with some kind loud screeching noise, that made the creatures writhe in agony. Underneath all of that blackness were people, each of them pale.

" Now, use the fire pikes." D'Racka shouted.

I grabbed the little pike that D'Racka had given me and ignited it just as he showed me. I then quickly threw the pike into the crowd of creatures and watched as it suddenly engulfed all of the creatures in a blaze.

D'Racka continued running and forced his way through the pillar of flames.

I followed after him. Not like I needed to be worried about fire, at this point I'm sure it couldn't do much to me.

We continued our venture into the nest. This seemed to be an easy quest. I didn't know what was so hard about getting rid of these things. They were very easy to kill.

Or at least I thought so.

The moment D'Racka and I entered the main chamber, I saw exactly how many of these creatures there. There were easily thousands of them. Maybe as much as Xerxes army. And floating in the center was one with an all-black sword and a red mark on his chest. He appeared to be sleeping. Stuck in a slumber.

The moment we entered the creatures that were protecting the man in the middle of the room suddenly turned and hissed at us.

" D'Racka there are too many of them for us handle this way. Get back. I'll hold them off, you do what you need to do." I told the man.

" How do you plan on handling so many of them alone?" D'Racka asked in an almost panicked voice.

I raised my fist and swung it towards the horde in front us and the air cracked. A wave of destruction rushed out from my fist and the horde was suddenly parted. I couldn't use my full strength less I wanted to bring the ceiling down on top of us, but something this small should be enough to at least keep them off of us.

" What... What was that?" D'Racka asked.

" An earthquake. Now, hurry. The longer we're in here the more likely we'll be overcome. Look, they're already gathering again." I told the man. I pointed to the numerous amounts of devils gathering again and he nodded.

" Knull...." One of the creatures hissed.

" You can speak? What the hell is Knull?" I asked the creature.

I looked up to the floating man in the chamber. The Devils were pulling themselves together. As if they were trying to merge into one thing, and it seemed like they were almost finished. Whatever this Knull is I don't think it's something virtuous.

I need to destroy whatever that is.

I jumped into the air, towards the man. But the creatures formed some kind of giant wall and blocked my path. I raised my fist and punched towards them, sending another quake at them. The wall split apart partially, but quickly formed back together again.

The wall then sent out large tendrils that grabbed hold of me. I pulled out my sword and cut the tendrils off of my body. Preventing them from trying to take me over.

Once I was free, I grabbed my sword and channeled a quake through it. I then slashed at the wall in front of me and watched as it was cut to pieces. With the wall out of the way, I rushed towards the man that was forming in the room. I tried to cut his head off with my sword, but the moment I approached him, his eyes shot open and with one swing of his blade, I was sent flying.

I hit the ground hard and grabbed at my bleeding head.

" How?" I was confused on how this thing was able to make me bleed so easily. I looked up and watched as the man-thing tried moving around. His aura was ominous and heavy. But something was wrong. It seemed like he wasn't ready. Like he was somewhere else. Stuck in place.

" HNNN..... Not yeeeeet." The man growled he then fell back into his sleep. His body looked like it was fading in and out.

I think that these creatures are trying to bring whatever this guy is to this place. I need to destroy this place, no more holding back.

Just as I was about to strike, D'Racka came running back into the room.

" D'racka are you finished?" I asked the man. Honestly it didn't matter, but if we could both get out of there...

" Yes, we must hurry, this nest is about to flooded with sound and fire. What is that?!" D'Racka asked having seen the man floating in the middle of the room.

" Trouble. Go hurry, I will be behind you." D'Racka didn't hesitate to turn and run. Whatever it is I felt, he must have felt it to.

" I don't know if this will kill it. But I can at the very least, buy us time." I raised my fist and with all my strength I struck the ceiling. The entire nest shook. Hopefully this will keep them trapped down here. I then turned and ran along the pathway back to the entrance to the nest. Catching up with D'Racka in no time.

" What did you do?! It feels like the entire world is shaking." D'Racka asked.

" Hopefully, I destroyed them all. When are those fire pikes going to go up?" I asked.

D'Racka and I exited the nest and as soon as we did the entire nest exploded.

" ARGH!" I grunted as I was blown away by the explosion.

* KEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!

The screeching sound of the devils filled the jungle.

" Are you insane?" I asked the man beside me.

He was in bad shape. His suit completely torn, and his body burned badly. If it weren't for the fact that I managed to cover him at the last second, he might not have survived that explosion. I know for a fact that any of his forces that were in there definitely didn't survive.

" Maybe a little." D'Racka joked. He coughed heavily and spit up a muck of blood. But he laughed, nonetheless. " What I would give to have a god's physique. You don't seem to be injured at all."

" Damn you, D'Racka. You could have warned me that was going to happen."

" I told you we were going to blow them to the heavens. Did you think I was joking?" D'Racka asked.

" A little. But it worked, I think. I don't see anything left of the nest. Nothing but a massive crater." I told the man. " Come on, idiot. Let's get you home. You still owe me." I told the man. I picked up his badly burned body and began the trek back to Wakanda.

Though it seemed like we did it. There was still that gnawing feeling in the back of my mind that whatever that Knull was, it was still alive. Just somewhere else.

XxX

Once we were back in Wakanda, I handed D'Racka off to one of his personal bodyguards.

At first the woman was a little... Aggressive. But after a few words from D'Racka she lowered the tip of her spear from my neck.

After waiting for the women to stabilize the man, I was finally let into the room. D'Racka was in some kind of pool, his wounds were healing, slowly, but healing.

" Forgive them. They serve me with a passion and men like you are hardly ever welcomed here. Let alone the fact you were carrying me with injuries." D'Racka spoke.

" It's all fair. Now, onto my payment." I spoke.

" What did I tell you about patience?" D'Racka asked.

" Sorry."

" Don't be. I honestly did not expect either of us to make it back. But I am a man of word. We have suffered under the hands of the black devils for a long time. And thanks to your help, we are free of them." D'Racka snapped his fingers and one of the ladies from before walked into the room carrying three boxes.

She handed the boxes to D'Racka and he beckoned for me to come forward.

I stepped towards the man, and he opened the boxes for me. And I saw three molten liquids.

" What is this?" I asked the man.

" This is what you asked for. Vibranium and Adamantium. These are their natural forms. Keep them in this box until you are ready to use them. If you do not, then the adamantium will harden and will not be able to be reshaped." D'Racka explained.

" I see, but what is the third one?" I asked.

" I figured I'd save you a trip to the savage lands. That is Arctic Vibranium. Consider a gift for your aid.

" You have saved me a trip. Thank you, D'Racka. I appreciate it more than you know." I told the man. It was nice of him. I did not expect him to have all of the materials I was searching for. But then again, Wakanda is known for their use of Vibranium. I don't suppose it would be uncommon for them to have access to both.

" Of course, my friend. If you are ever in Africa again, then please come by. All of Wakanda is your friend." D'Racka spoke.

I nodded happily. I bid D'Racka farewell and made my way to leave Wakanda. However, I still had this feeling in the back of my mind that haunted me. Whatever Knull was, he swatted me aside like it was nothing. And it seemed he wasn't even in his full strength. I can only hope that explosion killed him for good.
