Li Yue Returns

In the professor's luxurious manor, a group of people suddenly appeared in an empty room. It was the mutant team that had teleported back with Li Yue.

"Li Yue, all those lives... how could you... It will be difficult for mutants and humans to coexist peacefully."

The professor still could not believe that Li Yue had abandoned all those humans. He still wanted to believe that mutants and humans could live peacefully together.

Li Yue, on the other hand, said that he wouldn't save those humans even if he could.

With a catastrophe costing the lives of countless human soldiers, the humans could not stay still. Their fear of the mutants would only be amplified by vengeance. It would be impossible to mend the relationship between humans and mutants. Countless mutants would suffer injustice, and families would be ripped apart.

"Professor, I think Li Yue is right. Sooner or later, we mutants will have to stand against humans. Had I not hated Shaw for what he did, I think I would have joined his team," Erik broke the silence.

Erik's perspective was different from the professor's. He understood better than ever that mutants and humans could never coexist peacefully. Humans would never tolerate a stronger species existing on Earth.

Humans would bond with and protect wild animals, but they would definitely be the first to attack an animal with the same intelligence as them. They would capture, breed, and "study" the new animals in inhumane conditions.

"Erik, you too?" The professor stared in disbelief at Erik. Is this really his good friend? Had their ideals differed that much the whole time?

"Charles, I joined your team because I needed you to fight Shaw. Now that Shaw is dead, it is time for us to part ways," Erik said one last time to Charles before addressing the mutant team, "The society that Charles held oh so dear will not accept us. But we only have to build a new one. If the humans wanted to fight us, then we would stand together until the end!"

"Now, is there anyone among you who will join me to create a kingdom for all mutants?" Erik said while holding his hand out to the mutant team.

Angel's eyes flashed, and she walked toward Erik without hesitation.

The others' expressions changed, but no one else walked forward.

Erik looked at Mystique, his eyes full of encouragement.

Mystique finally walked forward—but she walked to Charles' side.

"You should follow him if that's what you really think."

"You promised not to read my thoughts."

"I promised you many things, I'm afraid..."

"Take care of yourself!" Mystique hugged Charles and said her goodbye before finally walking towards Erik.

This was her choice.

"Li Yue, what about you? You should have the same thought as me. Will you not join us?" Erik invited Li Yue after several seconds of silence. None of the other mutant team members walked to his side.

"Sorry, Erik, I will not join you, nor will I join Charles. I have decided to travel alone," Li Yue refused. He was not from this world; there was no need to join the war between mutants and humans.

"I respect your choice. See you in the future!" Erik was very disappointed by Li Yue's rejection, but he still expressed his respect for Li Yue.

Charles, I hope that we will not become enemies the next time we meet," Erik said to Charles.

"Erik, take good care of Raven!" Charles warned.

"I will!"

Finally, Erik turned around with the two girls and left without looking back.

Everyone watched their backs until they disappeared. They turned to Li Yue and found that Li Yue had already disappeared.

"Just yesterday, a group of mutants had mercilessly taken the lives of countless soldiers on the Cuba Sea. This is a declaration of war! Humanity must not stand still!"

In the end, Professor X founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters to shelter and educate the mutant children as well as to protect them from humans.

Erik, on the other hand, established the Mutant Brotherhood to gather powerful mutants and rebel against humanity.

Li Yue had no way of knowing what happened after that. He was currently at a barbecue stall in a certain night market in China.

He was happily eating barbecue when his spirit was suddenly pulled to the unknown starry sky again. He felt an irresistible pull taking him upwards, closer to the point of light, before the light swallowed him.

From an outside perspective, a blue wormhole as tall as a person suddenly appeared behind Li Yue while he was eating. The wormhole was surrounded by blue energy, but its center was impossibly dark as if a black hole.

Tendrils of blue energy at the edge of the wormhole slowly reached out toward Li Yue's body, enveloping him with a light blue glow. Then, they suddenly pulled Li Yue into the dark wormhole before disappearing like an illusion.

The only witness to this phenomenon was an old man with few teeth left in his mouth. He was dumbfounded at the supernatural phenomenon before finally saying, "Oh, for fuck's sake! Where did that guy go?! He hasn't paid yet!"

The first two times that dimensional transmigration occurred to Li Yue, he was mostly unconscious. This time, he was fully awake and sober, but he almost wished that he had blacked out instead.

Li Yue felt as if his soul had been forcefully pulled out of his body by an unknown force, turning into an orb of light that slowly floated into the sky.

But before he could drift far away, that force grabbed him again. It was as if there were several large hands that crushed him like dough, kneading him again and again and then smashing him with a rolling pin several times for good measure.

He had no way of resisting. He could only let that force do as it will on him, giving him immeasurable pain and indescribable feelings. In short, it was a very uncomfortable experience.

This state lasted for an unknown amount of time. It might be tens of thousands of years, but it might also be less than a second. But finally, that power stopped toying with him.

Li Yue suddenly felt himself falling uncontrollably for yet another unknown span of time.

Li Yue finally stopped falling, and his body suddenly returned under his control. Li Yue hurriedly opened his eyes to assess the situation.

However, just as Li Yue opened his eyes, he found a huge yellow fist smashing down on his head.
