Time seemed to pass unusually quickly at night, and when Ethan realized that he should probably be going to sleep, it was already around 4 AM. Of course, as expected, he was late again. Or maybe he should say... he was actually late for the afternoon, because when he entered the school, the second afternoon class had already started. He had slept until 1 PM!
Ethan could already imagine Professor Will's cold, zombie-like face. He was sure that Professor Will would continue to hover around him like a pest, spewing a whole bunch of things for him to listen to, like a never-ending stream of nonsense. Unfortunately, things didn't unfold as Ethan had anticipated. Professor Will nodded and smiled at Ethan, his affable attitude causing Ethan to wonder if this old codger had suddenly developed an interest in men as well? This wasn't scientific, this wasn't normal—what exactly caused such a drastic change in his attitude?
Ethan didn't understand and didn't care to think too much about it. If the other party wasn't causing him trouble, that was great. He was too lazy to investigate why this old bastard had changed his attitude. However, at the end of the second class, something Peter said caught Ethan's attention.
"You're famous now?" Peter said.
"What?" Ethan looked puzzled. A minute later, when he saw a news article with a video attached in the New York New Post, he finally realized what had happened. The video of him teaching Thompson a lesson had been uploaded! Perhaps due to the camera constantly shaking, the footage shot by Martin's ancient camera wasn't very clear. Nevertheless, everyone could recognize at a glance that the guy who had beaten up five or six big guys in ten seconds was a student. The students at Midtown High School could easily tell that it was a small street near their school. Furthermore, since Thompson hadn't come to class today, many people had formed some speculations, sneaking glances at Ethan's direction from time to time.
However, nobody dared to ask; they could only suppress their curiosity and walk with their necks tucked in, staying away from trouble. At the very least, the students of Midtown High School wouldn't dare to mess with him these days. "How did you manage that at the time? They're all commenting that he is a martial arts experts, capable of flying over walls and walking on roofs. Is that true?" Peter excitedly asked, lowering his voice.
"Uh..." Ethan was stumped.
"I'm not quite sure either, but that's what they all say." Ethan exclaimed.
