Chapter 229

In the dark basement, Wanda reviewed several pivotal moments from her life, as if she were taking a guided tour.

The first scene depicted Wanda as a child, her home in Sokovia being bombed. She used her innate abilities to prevent the bomb from detonating.

"The death of your parents awakened your latent abilities unconsciously. You altered the probability of the missile's detonation so that it wouldn't explode."

Agatha was visibly impressed.

Wanda shook her head. "No, I didn't—I just happened to encounter a dud."

She recalled what Tony Stark had said: "There's no way Stark Industries missiles would be defective!"

Wanda dismissed the thought and continued watching the next memory.

This time, she saw herself participating in a Hydra experiment as a volunteer. She approached the Mind Stone, awakening her latent magical abilities...

At this moment, Wanda suddenly felt something was amiss.

In her memories, whether surviving the missile as a child or undergoing Hydra's experiments, Pietro was always by her side.

It was Quicksilver who had suggested participating in the Hydra experiment.

Yet, in the images Agatha had conjured from her mind, Wanda appeared alone from start to finish!

"Pietro..."

Wanda muttered, glancing at Agatha.

Agatha either didn't notice or, more likely, had no concept of Quicksilver in her scheme.

Agatha ignored Wanda's concern. She continued observing Wanda's awakening process, her interest piqued. "So, you merely had close contact with the infinity stone, and it enhanced your dormant magic?"

She frowned, pondering. "Everything about you connects together. I have a theory, but I need more evidence."

Agatha's lips curled into a wild smile.

If her theory was correct, her fortunes had shifted!

The third and most crucial video showed Wanda, in a state of extreme rage, single-handedly overpowering most of the Avengers with immense power and dominance!

However, Agatha wasn't focused on that. What truly captivated her was the subsequent explosion of chaotic energy. The area of tens of thousands of meters was engulfed in red, as if she had entered another realm.

"This… this is…"

Agatha's eyes widened in shock. Even though she had anticipated it, she was still taken aback.

Originally, another part of the memory had shown a passionate and intimate moment between Wanda and Thor in the illusion. Agatha, an old witch with a deprived childhood, was so incensed that she cut off the playback before it ended...

Regardless, she had gleaned everything she needed to know.

"Wow…"

A vine rose from the ground, tightly binding Wanda and lifting her into the air.

At that moment, Agatha shed her disguise, donning a black and purple robe, her body floating high.

"I know who you are!"

"You have no idea how dangerous you are!"

"You're supposed to exist in myth, possessing the power to create life! And here you are, using this power to fall in love like a mere mortal? You don't deserve this power!"

Agatha's voice grew increasingly unhinged. "This is chaos magic recorded in the Darkhold! It created you and made you the Scarlet Witch!"

"And now, it will soon be mine! Hahahahaha..."

Agatha's laughter turned eerie as she placed a hand on Wanda's head, channeling forbidden magic from the Darkhold. Red energy flowed into Wanda's body.

"Boom..."

"Uh huh..."

Surprisingly, it wasn't Wanda who screamed, but Agatha. The moment chaos magic touched her, it rebounded violently, sending her flying.

"Damn it! You don't deserve this power!"

Agatha's madness was evident. She realized that unless Wanda relinquished her power willingly, she couldn't claim it.

"Give it to me! Give it to me!"

The vines hurled Wanda to the ground. "You can't control this power at all! The world you created is full of flaws. Hand it over, let me perfect it, and you can live peacefully in this world forever!"

When intimidation failed, Agatha resorted to bribery.

Wanda, stunned, ceased struggling.

Agatha's face brightened with triumph, recognizing she had exploited Wanda's weakness.

"Wanda, I see you cherish your current life. It's peaceful and serene, without worries. No sudden threats from aliens, and no one disturbing you."

"But you must understand that this peace will end eventually. Without professional magical knowledge, you can't maintain this status quo forever. And the outside world won't simply stand by."

With each word, Wanda's face grew paler.

Agatha was satisfied with the progress.

"Your flaw isn't power but knowledge. But I possess it! Give me your power, and I'll help you fix the flaw in your original spell. Then, you, your lover, and all the residents of this town can live happily ever after, free from pain!"

Wanda gritted her teeth, wrestling with a deep internal conflict.

Agatha tried to soften her tone. "Oh, yes, and Thor! I know you love him dearly. But does he truly love you? Everything you have now is a lie! You forged his identity and controlled his mind. All your experiences are based on deception!"

"Imagine what would happen if he learned the truth and realized you had been deceiving him all along?"

Agatha unleashed her final devastating move, knowing Wanda could not withstand it.

Wanda fell silent, her expression neutral, as though she had made a decision.

She turned her head and looked at Agatha calmly.

"No, he always knew his fate."

"Boom…"

The stone door was shattered by a punch, and a voice filled with casual confidence rang out: "You don't think there are only two witches in this town, do you?"
