Second Warning

Cassie reminded herself one fine morning not to be affected by Theo's cold demeanor toward her.

'It's for the better, Cassie,' she whispered as she entered the building.

She decided to get up early and visit Theo in his office.

Theo had begun to treat her coldly since the accident. And here she is, standing in front of his office door, wondering if she will get in.

She took a deep breath and sighed before knocking on the door. She twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open, her lips pressed together.

She noticed Theo, who was busy scanning and signing some documents. She hemmed to clear her throat, hoping to catch his attention, but she was unsuccessful. Instead, she heard his icy tone.

"Just put it down and leave."

He maybe thought she was his secretary.

Cassie sighed and bit her lower lip as she approached his table. When she got a closer look, she wants to leave. However, it's too late for that.

"It's me, Theo…" she mumbled.

However, Theo didn't even bother to look at her.

Cassie sighed once more and turned to face the door. Theo stopped her just as she was about to reach for the doorknob.

"There's nothing we need to talk about. How many times do I have to tell you that? Get your ass to work and look for Camila. Stop bothering me. I have to attend an important meeting in Cali," he said, making Cassie's eyes widen, and she turned to him.

"California? Are you taking a plane or—"

"You're out of it. You're just the mother of my daughter," he stated coldly. It gave her skin chills all the way up to her head, breaking her heart.

Even though Theo was not looking at her, she smiled and nodded.

"I just want us to talk about Dad's com…" She came to a halt when Theo raised his head to meet her gaze.

"Miss Morgan, why are you so hard headed?"

Cassie's heartbeat was quick.

Miss Morgan?

Things are different now because he's not calling her by her name.

Before leaving his office, Cassie shook her head and smiled. She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes as she shut the door.

"He's different now," she said quietly.

She heaved a deep sigh, wondering what mistake she had made for Theo to treat her just like that.

She puffed her cheeks and was about to stride toward the elevator when she saw a girl wearing a red dress.

The woman stopped in front of her and raised her sunglasses. "Is Theo inside?"

Cassie frowned. Why is she looking for Theo?

"Who are you?" Cassie cursed inside her mind when she realized that she let out her thoughts.

The woman smiled. "I'm Sarah."

Cassie has a bad feeling about Sarah, who's in front of her. She wanted to ask for more but she knew she was not on the line to meddle with Theo's affair.

"Glad to meet you. Theo's inside; you may enter," Cassie said before leaving. She shook her head and went to her work. She needs to focus in order to divert her attention away from Theo's coldness.

However, her heart keeps on thumping as if she is racing for a 1-kilometer run.

Damn!

She admits she likes Theo.

THEO held himself at that moment and watched Cassie walk away. He sighed, took out one of the documents, and opened it. He tried to read it, but his vision got blurry. He then closes the folder and places it on the table.

He swiveled his chair towards the glass wall and gazed outside as he tried to relax.

Suddenly, his mind brought up the accident.

Blake was right! His life is extraordinary, and anyone around him could be in danger. Just like what had happened to his late wife.

'Dammit!' Why does he need to get affected by Cassie? He's heartless. He doesn't like her—but whom he was fooling?

What if Cassie doesn't fall in love with him?

Being with her, he thought he was ready. But Blake Moretti threatened him. He was ready to reveal his secret and clear things up. But it appears that fate does not want him to talk about it.

'Damn that Moretti!'

"Theo!"

Theo frowned when he saw Sarah. "What brought you here?"

"To warn you."

"Moretti?"

Sarah sat on the edge of his table and crossed her legs as she winked at him, making Theo want to grab her leg and strangle her.

"Blake already warned you. Don't repeat the same mistake again, Smith—"

"I have my own mind to make my decisions. If Blake won't stop this shit, I will fucking kill him!" he roared, clenching his fist.

Sarah chuckled. "As if you can kill the beast. By the way, I'm here for a reminder. We lost a lot. And Blake wants you to focus. You have many queued work to the mafia. So, better put yourself together and work!"

"I'm busy—"

Sarah interrupted him, "To whom? To that innocent doctor?"

"Don't ever dare to touch even the strand of her hair."

Sarah burst into laughter as she jumped away from him. "Blake will not hesitate to stop anyone who will hinder his will. You better start moving, Smith. Don't test the patience of the organization. If the Council finds out that you're in love again, you're fucking doomed!"

Theo gritted his teeth and stood up. "Leave!"

Sarah raised her hands, and a sly smirk crept on her lips. "Take this as a second warning from Moretti, Smith," she said, and after that, she left.

Theo couldn't help but punch his wooden table! "Fuck it!"

At the hospital.

Rona and Cassie are having lunch at the cafeteria, and the latter can't help herself not to talk about her situation.

"You better make your decision, Cici. Leave him again! Gosh! My blood boils. How could that Smith treat you like that? Fuck him and his balls!" Rona uttered in anger.

Cassie shook her head. "I like him, Ro. You're right. I am attracted to him and wish to give my daughter a complete family… but Theo is confusing me. I thought we were okay. I know and feel that he likes me, then one day, after that accident, it vanished."

Cassie tried her best to hold back her tears, and Rona seemed to notice it.

"Let's go. Just one more round to the ward, and we're off. I will visit Camila and wait for that asshole—"

"Ro, don't rush things. Let me handle it."

Rona rolled her eyes. "Fine. What do you want me to do?"

Cassie pressed her lips together before standing up. Rona followed, and they both walked toward the counter and put down their trays. While walking to their office, Cassie started, "I'm moving out with my daughter."

"What? Are you for real? You're going back to your condo?"

Cassie nodded. "I need to."

"When?"

"Today," Cassie replied.

Rona's eyes widened. She grabbed Cassie's arm, pulling them to a halt. "Are you freaking serious? Theo will—"

"That's why I need your help. Theo will be home late tonight," she said as if she was sure.

"Fine. You know when you done something, you can't undo it. And how about Camila?"

"I need space to think and wait for Theo to chase us back—I know I am hoping that he might exert some effort…" She paused and sighed. "I don't know. The situation is making me crazy."

Rona tapped her shoulder. "I am always here for you. Theo will chase you back. I am sure of that. I know he likes you, and maybe he only has reasons or what. Well," she put her hands inside the pockets of her white coat, "let's get our work done, and I will help you move out."
