Chapter 19: Dad's of Mom's Replica?
Three weeks later.....
Kiara and Enzo sat across from the doctor, both of them wearing matching smiles. It was finally time for them to leave the hospital and return home. This was the moment Kiara had been waiting for, and it seemed like it had taken forever to arrive.
"I'm so glad we're leaving this place," she whispered to Enzo, who smiled back at her. He was just as happy as she was to be going home.
"You two look so excited to be leaving," the doctor teased. "I can tell you've had enough of this place."
"Who wouldn't be?" Kiara replied, still grinning.
"All right, enough chitchat," the doctor said, his expression turning serious. "It's time to get down to business, Mr. and Mrs. Davis."
The air in the room changed, becoming more professional and focused.
"Here are the medications you need to take to help heal your body and prevent any future complications," the doctor said, handing Kiara a prescription. "Please take these very seriously. Don't skip any doses."
"I'll be sure to take them exactly as prescribed," Kiara said, carefully placing the prescription in her purse. "And Enzo, please make sure she takes her medications as directed." Enzo nodded, his expression calm.
"Well, I think that's everything for now," the doctor said, a smile spreading across his face. "I'm glad your baby is doing so well, and I'm confident that you'll make a speedy recovery. Mrs. Davis, your baby is a fighter, just like you. Please take care of him for me." He stood up from his chair, signaling the end of the conversation.
"Yes, I'm sure the nurses are finished with him by now," Enzo said, also standing up. "We should go see him." Kiara nodded, her heart racing with excitement.
They walked out of the office together, making their way to the dressing room where they found the baby sleeping soundly, completely dressed.
Kiara looked down at her son, her heart swelling with pride and love. He was the most beautiful baby she had ever seen, and it was hard to believe he was hers.
She walked over to the crib and picked up the baby, cradling him in her arms. "He's so cute and tiny," she whispered, her voice full of emotion. A few tears of joy threatened to spill over, but she held them back, not wanting to wake the baby.
"He's just as handsome as his father," Enzo said, his hands resting on Kiara's shoulders. She rolled her eyes at him.
"Don't be ridiculous, he obviously got his good looks from me," she retorted, a playful smile on her face as she walked out of the room, baby in arms.
"You two seem ready to go home," the doctor said with a chuckle. "Just remember to invite me to your baby's first birthday party." He watched as the couple nodded, amused by his joke.
"We will," Enzo said, ushering Kiara and the baby out of the hospital and into the fresh air.
They said their goodbyes to the hospital staff and left the building.
As Enzo opened the car door for Kiara, he made sure she was comfortable and buckled in before closing the door and getting into the driver's seat. He started the car and pulled out of the parking lot, driving down the road.
"What should we name our son?" Kiara asked, breaking the silence in the car. Enzo thought for a moment, his brow furrowed in concentration.
He pondered for a moment before speaking. "I think we should name him Kenneth," he said. "I like the way it sounds, and it has a certain strength to it."
Kiara's face lit up with a smile. "That's perfect!" she exclaimed. "How did you come up with it?"
"I just thought about it and it sounded right," Enzo replied, keeping his eyes on the road. "I'm glad you like it."
"You're good at picking names," she teased.
"I'm glad you think so," he said with a chuckle. "So from now on, we'll call him Kenneth Davis."
They arrived at their apartment a short while later. The door to the building was already open, as the staff had been expecting them.
He pulled the car Into the garage and parked it in its designated spot. The housekeepers were lined up, waiting for him to step out. As soon as he did, they rushed towards him like hungry lions, opening the door and bowing as he and Kiara exited the vehicle.
"Welcome back, Mr. and Mrs. Davis!" they chorused, clapping their hands and throwing flower petals at their feet. It was clear that this greeting had been planned in advance.
Kiara was surprised by the reception, but she couldn't help but smile. She was so happy to be home and to see her staff so excited to see them. She couldn't stop herself from grinning like a fool.
"Your son is so handsome," the maids said, cooing over the baby as he slept peacefully in Kiara's arms.
"May I hold him?" one of them asked, clearly captivated by the little boy's beauty.
"Of course you can hold him," Kiara said, gently handing over the baby to the maid.
"What's his name?" the maid asked, cradling the baby in her arms. She couldn't take her eyes off him.
"His name is Kenneth," Kiara replied, smiling warmly. "He's such a handsome little boy, isn't he?"
"He is," the maid agreed. "He looks just like you...
Just then, Enzo interrupted. He strode up to the two women, shooting a glare at the maid who had claimed the baby looked like Kiara.
"You're lying!" he exclaimed. "How could you say the baby looks like her? Look at me – the baby looks just like me! Can't you see his nose? It's identical to mine!"
His words made the two women burst into laughter. Enzo's expression was dead serious, but the women couldn't help but find his claim amusing.
"Come on, Enzo, you have to admit he looks like me!" Kiara teased, enjoying his frustration. "He has my eyes, my nose, and my smile."
"I'm not going to give in that easily," Enzo said, crossing his arms stubbornly. He was determined to stick to his guns, even if it meant being the target of her teasing.
"Tell her the baby looks like me," he said to the maids, who were still laughing uncontrollably. "She's feeling too proud of herself."
"Yes, the baby definitely looks like you," the eldest maid said, siding with Enzo.
"I told you so," Enzo said, sticking his tongue out at Kiara. He was enjoying the moment of victory.
"Oh, please," she said, rolling her eyes. "Let me have my son back."
"You didn't support me," he said, continuing to tease her. "So I'm not giving him back." He walked into the house, still holding the baby, with Kiara and the others trailing behind him, laughing and enjoying the moment.
