Chapter 1: Are you cheating on me?

Graduation day was only a day left. Arya was happy to finally graduate with her bachelors degree in Arts. Her best friend Kyle was super excited..... She will be going back home.

Arya on the other hand wasn't that motivated. She couldn't remember how she ended up traped by life.... first a father she never knew then her mother dies cause of cancer as if her problems are were not enough she ends up in an abusive relationship. With how things are between  Charles and her she isn't sure how things will go after graduation. At least school was shielding her from him.

Her phone rings indicating a new message.

Come to my house at 2pm will be waiting

Check the time she decides to take a shower first before going there.

"Kyle.... Charles called for me. Do you mind finishing my graduation prep tasks? " She called out from the shower after she heard the door opening signaling her entry.

"Oh sure, that's not a problem, "she yells in the bedroom.

After some time she arrived at Charles' place and got in using a spare key he gave her back  when things were still okay between them.

She opened the door and set her bag on the sofa.

Before announcing her presence she  heard sounds coming from his bedroom and decided to go and check. People rarely broke into houses in this neighborhood which got her curious.  Opening the door her heart dropped to her stomach making it turn and her heart shatter into pieces.

"How could you Charles?" She asked in a low voice.

"Oh cut it down Arya.... You of all people know me.... Oh where are my manners, this is Dorothy my girlfriend and Dorothy baby that's Arya.... I think you know her. She is my media girlfriend after all, " He replied without even showing regret for his actions.

"Did you call me here just to make me see you with another person? " She inquired.

"Hahaha, " he laughs before continuing "see um not the problem here Arya.... You are,(pause)  you are very disobedient you see... I told you to come at 2pm and you are here 45mins earlier. You were supposed to come after she was gone. We were almost done anywhere, "

"Charles why... h-how could you? "She replied accusingly.

"Are you accusing me right now?  Dorothy go home (pause)  I will call you after I deal with Arya here, " he informed her.

Dorothy picked up her clothes and went out of the room with her other hand clinging onto the bed sheet that covered her but not before giving Arya a glare.

After she was out of the yard Arya was missed by a bottle of beer.

"You rascal!  You just had to ruin everything didn't you? " he yelled at her. Arya didn't know what she did wrong.

He was drunk but not fully drunk to be unaware of what he was doing.

He came over to her in the blink of an eye and pulled her  hair.

Tears went down her cheeks. She didn't know what hurt more. That he was beating her or this wasn't the first time doing so or was it him cheating on her  and not even trying to hide it or was it the lovely Charles she fell in love with. When did she loss him. She wondered.

"Why are you doing this to me, "she said in between sobs.

"Oh don't start with the emotional blackmail Arya. You really have no idea how bad you are? You disrespect me, you disobey me and you question everything I do. Who do you think you are?  Greater than me!? " he yelled as he gave her a harsh slap on the face and a kick in her stomach that had her flying across the room.

She yelped in pain as her back went forcefully against the base of the bed.

"You know why I prefer Dorothy over you? She does.(kick)  not.(kick)  question(kick) . me.(kick)

She is obedient unlike you. "He greeted his teeth after saying that.

By now Arya was coughing blood"oh cut it out Arya, " he said as he harshly threw her onto the bed.

He ripped her button up shirt leaving her exposed. "Don't, "Arya whimpered as he went for her skirt leaving her in a bra and pants.

"This is what you wanted isn't it? You say um breaking your heart by sleeping around and now you nolonger want to sleep with me?" He said in a hushed manner as he removed his trousers and thrust harshly into her.

She cried out in pain as there was nothing loving about it. He thrusted in and out in an animalistic manner making the act nothing enjoyable at all. He gripped onto her hair as he groaned signaling he was coming.

Arya thrusted as she didn't want him spilling in her. The last thing she wanted was having his child and living in this hell called a relationship forever.

He held unto her stronger and managed to empty himself in her. She needed to go to the clinic after this. She told herself

"You are not even  that good in bed any where, " he said in a hush tone and got up. He pulled up his trousers and went to open his bedroom windows.

After opening them he went out of the room not before saying "if you ever tell anyone about this.... I will ruin your image on media. Be the good girlfriend you are and come downstairs, I have somethings to discuss with you, " he said.

"Oh.... and bath before that... You smell, " Arya frowned at the comment and he banged the door.

Arya broke down and cried in the shower. They used to be head over hills with each other. He used to be nice and gentle. The whole media know her as his girlfriend. A lovely couple they say. If only people knew the truth. She thought and she came out of the shower.

She couldn't say anything on media even if I wanted to. He could destroy her career before it even started if he wanted to. Not that she was that famous. She was a local model. That's what made her comfortable. She didn't want the whole world knowing her as his girlfriend even though she was bleeding inside.

If she later decided  to go international even global she needs to breakup with him first, which isn't an easy thing. Seeing her mom died she don't have anywhere to go. Her mother was a foreigner to this land. She moved to this place when she discovered she was pregnant with her college senior.

Her punishment could have been dire or even worse they could have forced her to abort Arya so her mother told her. Not that she cared though. It was better than leaving in such misery. She knew it was not part of her mom's plan to die cause of cancer and leave her alone.

Breaking up with her current boyfriend will be naive of her. Charles is a branch manager of a global entertainment company. And he oversees the branch in this city. With one word from him no model or acting agency will ever hire Arya. Her being jobless means going homeless or worse dieing of starvation.

Even going out of the country will be of no use. She doesn't even have enough money for such and also the company is global.

"You are here, "he acknowledged her presence even though he continued with what he was doing on his phone. When Arya didn't reply he looks at her and continued "you are graduating tomorrow aren't you? " he inquired

"Yes I am, "she replied

"Well as we both know after school you won't have anywhere to stay. Therefore as your boyfriend, I will provide for you, " he said.

Arya didn't feel happy with the news. The way he talked about it made it clear that he could leave her homeless if he ever wanted one day.

He wasn't that cruel before. When she told him of her situation back then they worked their asses off and payed for her mom's treatment. All was going well until one day he just decided not help her . If only he had helped her a little maybe her  mom could have been alive today.

She had helped him get where he wanted. He was now TAF's brach manager after all. He didn't need her help anymore she thought.

Happy thoughts Arya, happy thoughts. She repeated in her head.

"You don't look excited about the whole thing. Don't you want a place to stay or you have found a new boyfriend you can parasite on, " he continued.

"Are you cheating on me?"he accused

The nerve. Arya thought.

"At least I don't sleep with sluts infront of my 'girlfriend ', " Arya replied in a low voice coating the word girlfriend in the air.

That seemed to anger him and he threw her out of his house. She landed on her butt on the nice concrete yard.

It hurt badly but she got up and went to school before he made it any worse. This is not the first time she was being thrown out like a dog. The old her would have fought but you see when you are hopeless you lose even your own dignity.
