When I got off the phone with Sylas, I hated that he didn't call me by my Shadow name, but his money was green. He was willing to pay a ridiculous amount for us to assassinate, control, and impersonate two Betas, relaying any information we found to him. I wondered why it was so difficult for the members of his large clan to take them out.
It wasn't even a fight, honestly. The ignorant fools shouldn't have stopped. I laughed at how swiftly we were able to take them out, playing the events out in my mind. It was child's play. The night before, Sylas called me desperate, so I performed my blood-letting ritual to force a vision while the Shadows guarded my body. It's the only time I'm vulnerable.
I saw where the Betas would stop and dispatched our elite clan with my plan. Lust would enter the back of the diner and glamour the humans while we took care of them. Decades ago, she could only glamour one person at a time, but now, a packed diner was an easy feat.
We stood on the roof of the building and waited for them to exit. Wrath took the lead and jumped forcefully onto the roof of their SUV just when they thought they were safe. Their fear was delectable, and her scream excited us more. Their feeble attempt to prevent us from entering was laughable as we surrounded the vehicle.
The male tried to hold the door closed, but Wrath ripped it from the hinges. Envy, who could also use blood manipulation as well after devouring a soul who had the same power, tied the male down with his threads of hemokinesis once he was yanked from the car. The female was still trying to put the keys in the ignition, but her trembling hands failed her.
Gluttony began extracting his blood and placing it into several bottles while he remained bound. The female was so desperate to save her mate that she tried to shift while she was still in the vehicle and, unfortunately for her, got herself stuck during her panic. Werewolves were inferior beings, but they were entertaining. In reality, we could have wiped them out long ago, but we kept them around to keep things interesting.
The male died, and then we moved our attention to the female; Wrath toyed with her, wrapping her up in his blood manipulation after he tore the roof off the SUV, successfully extracting her. "I'm going to enjoy fucking your tight little body.", he hissed as she squirmed to free herself. Her fear was palatable.
Greed began feeding on her hind leg, taking in enough of her blood to perform her shift. Gluttony took over, bottling her blood as well. Greed would use the collected blood later to fulfill the mission we were being paid to do. The female shifted back to her human form, and the last thing she saw before she was drained of the last drop of blood was Greed walking around as her doppelganger.
Sloth still had his job to do, which was to resurrect the male, but we still had time before his body truly expired. Greed lifted the corpses while Wrath grabbed their luggage and phones from the vehicle. I stuffed a cloth into the gas tank and ignighted it. We had a few moments to remove any trace of them before the vehicle exploded.
I clicked my tongue, indicating to my clan that we needed to distance ourselves from the impending explosion. We ran quickly from the scene. Later, we would watch the news to see what imaginative story the humans would devise to explain the tragedy. We reconvened a few miles away in a destitute cornfield.
Wrath and Greed consummated the victory, and he ravished her new temporary body, a kink they had developed over the century that we had been together. I rolled my eyes, I didn't need to have the gift of prognostication to know that they were going to do that. Her moans were annoyingly loud, but I tried to focus on other things.
Greed placed the corpses down, and Sloth performed his blood-letting ritual, raising the male from his deathbed by allowing his blood to flow through his nostrils, into his lungs, and then to his body; it was a remarkable process as we saw his eyes burst open and him choke and gasp for air. Sloth pulled his blood back into himself and said, "I don't know if he can still shift; I've never brought back a werewolf before."
I nodded and leaned down, "How are you feeling?" He looked at me, seemingly bewildered. He was calm and didn't react as a werewolf normally would when in the presence of a vampire. He called out, "Morgana." I cut my eyes in Greed and Wrath's direction and saw him fucking her roughly from behind; her back arched in pleasure as he climaxed inside of her. I screeched loudly, "Greed."
Wrath stood and adjusted his pants, and Greed hurried over while adjusting her clothing, her cheeks and chest a vibrant shade of red. She smoothed her newly acquired long black hair and said breathlessly, "What's so important? Couldn't you have waited until I came too?" I cut my eyes at her again, and she stopped ranting.
"Morgana, your partner asked about you." She nodded, taking the hint, "Darius, my mate, I'm so glad we're okay. These people were nice enough to help us. Let's thank them and be on our way." Darius stood and nodded; he was just a shell of his former self, recalling the mere basics of his past life. Greed would be there to sell the idea that he just wasn't acting like his normal self because of everything they had been through.
It would be dangerous for her to infiltrate a pack house alone, but she knew that if she needed to, she could flee. Plus, once we figured out where they were headed, we would remain close by. She grabbed the luggage and their phones. "We need to locate another vehicle.", she said as she pointed over at Darius, "Mr. Mangy over there won't be able to keep up with me."
I chuckled at her insult and could tell that she was sexually frustrated because of her lack of orgasm; it served her right, though, trying to mix business with pleasure. I called over, "Lust, can you acquire them some wheels?" She said, "Sure thing and disappeared. Greed looked through the phone's GPS history, "We're going to Montrose, Michigan. She gave me the address, and I made arrangements for the rest of the members.
Lust returned with another vehicle about thirty minutes later. She had glamoured the keys off of some poor sap, and her smile told me that she fed upon him, too, as I watched her park the car. "Here ya' go.", she said, tossing the keys in my direction. I said, "Greed, change your clothes; they would definitely know something was off if you showed up in tight leather. She waved her hand in a smug salute but did as I ordered.
Gluttony helped usher Darius into the passenger seat, and he put the suitcases in the back seat once Greed had changed her outfit. He asked, "Where do you want me to put the blood?" Greed responded, "In the trunk except one in my bag. Did you label them for me this time?" Gluttony rolled his eyes, "They were labeled last time; you just didn't take the time to read them."
Greed scoffed, "Sure, blame me." I massaged my temples. Sometimes, I felt like I was surrounded by idiots despite them being the most elite vampires. I snapped, "Enough. Greed, get in the car; we'll follow you there and split off when we get close to our temporary housing."
I added, "Program my number into her phone and give me yours. Text or call me with any updates." She reluctantly handed me her phone before she took off. We transformed and flew above the vehicle, keeping her in our sights in case she needed assistance. Everything was going smoothly.
Two hours into our trip, we were met with a snowstorm. I signaled to the others to land, clicking my tongue again. We landed, and I called Greed on the borrowed phone. "The snow is getting pretty bad for flying. We'll have to follow you on foot for now, at least until it settles.
She said, "Okay.", before hanging up. I checked the time and told the others, "We have about an hour and a half before she'll get to the pack house." They nodded and followed my lead. I had booked us two rooms at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. It was a twenty-minute drive from the pack house, but the closest hotel available.
We would prep the place when we arrived, ensuring no sunlight could enter during the day. Unlike Greed, we were still forced to abide by the rules; with her becoming Morgana, she would have a built-in sunscreen, so long as she continued to drink her blood. Signs for Flint Michigan blured by, we were almost there.
