Chapter 33: Lunch with The Chikafuji 2

"It's been so long, Yuki." Akifumi said as he hugged his little sister.

"Yes, it has." Yuki muttered.  She wasn't so happy to see him, but there was no way she was going to let their relationship destroy itself completely.

'He is a bad person, but he's still my brother.' She thought.

"Narumi and Akiko, won't you say hi to your dear uncle?" Akifumi said.

"Hello."  Akiko  responded politely as she waved at the man who was in front of her.

"My dear Akiko, you look so beautiful."  He  complimented.

"Thank you."  She smiled a little bit in order not to seem rude.

"What do you think, Sota?" Akifumi asked his son, who was standing beside him. "Doesn't your cousin look good?"

Sota just stared blankly at his father before looking away. He had no interest in seeing his aunt or cousin, so he didn't want to say anything to them.

"Mr. Chikafuji, who is this woman? Your new girlfriend, if that's the case, would she be your fifth or sixth?" Narumi said with an eyebrow raise. "You should at least introduce her to us, or are you scared that this relationship won't last?"

Akifumi chuckled.   "You haven't changed at Narumi; you are still feisty, just like usual."

"How can she change? It's an annoying habit of hers, and sometimes I wonder how Daiki deals with her." Sato smirked as he looked at Daiki, who hasn't said a word since they arrived.

"Don't say that, son; it must be hard for the poor guy, so don't tease him. Being married to Narumi must have been his biggest mistake." Akifumi laughed, but Daiki only shrugged. It did sound pretty stupid to respond to something like that, so he kept quiet about it.

Narumi, on the other hand, was really annoyed; she wanted to give both the father and son a piece of her mind right now but refrained herself because of Daiki.

"Anyway, this is Kanako." Akifumi said as he placed a hand on the shoulder of the woman beside him.

"Hello, nice to meet you all."  The blonde said as she bowed slightly.

"The pleasure is ours." Yuki smiled politely, which made Kanako's face light up.

Akiko and Narumi looked at each other and shook their heads a little bit. Kanako looked like a young lady who was too naive for her own good.

"Enough of the talk; let's have lunch together. I'm sorry for keeping you all standing over here." Yuki said apologetically as she led everyone to the dining room.

When everyone was seated around the table, Yuki instructed the maids to serve everyone food.

"Oh my gosh, sis, you still remember my favorite meal." Akifumi grinned.

"Of course I remembered." Yuki said. "And it has been prepared just the way you like it."

As if on cue, one of the maids came back and set a plate of salmon curry in front of Akifumi, followed by rice, miso soup, and salad for everyone else.

"You always spoil me with food whenever I visit you, sis." Akifumi said, smiling brightly. He loved eating the foods his sister made because she was a really good cook.

"My mom does it because she wants you to taste something made at home; you are always eating foods from outside." Narumi chuckled.  "And the chiefs at your place are horrible cooks, or maybe it's a normal thing for everything about you to be horrible."

Akifumi glared at Narumi and opened his mouth as if he were about to retort, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he picked up the chopsticks and began to eat his dinner.

'This little bitch.' He thought as he took a bite out of his dish. 'I need to calm down so I can get on her good side.'

"Narumi, I recently heard that you bagged a contract with a foreign company in Italy." Akifumi commented between bites. "You must be very proud."

"Well, I am proud because I have worked hard for it." Narumi smiled.   "But I'm sure you don't understand what hard work means, uncle."

"You always love to say harsh things to your dear uncle. What about the time when you were always playing with me when you were a child? Remember that?"    Akifumi raised his eyebrows at her.

Narumi didn't respond for a moment as she continued to stare at Akifumi. When she finally answered, it was with a smirk. "Yes, I remember it; I'll never forget it, but I also remember that you stole my father's idea when he died, then created your own company with it."

Akifumi narrowed his eyes at her and clenched the silverware in his fist tightly. "That's enough, Narumi."

"I didn't lie, though." She said it nonchalantly as she continued to sip her wine and enjoy her meal. "Your company only did well because of my dad's idea, which you stole."

"Enough. We're having a family dinner; I am tired of this conversation." Yuki sighed as she tried to ignore the tension in the air.

"Narumi, calm down." Daiki whispered in her ear. "You can put your hands in mine or just rest them against my knee."

"Thank you."

Narumi said as she rested her head against Daiki's knee.

'I just wish he wasn't here,' she thought.

"Aah!  It seems like the husband is trying to calm his wife down. Daiki, please tell me what you are doing here with your wife? Why do you live in here with her?" Sato asked curiously.

"Well, since you asked a question, we could answer that. The reason Narumi and I leave here is because it's our decision; we don't owe you an explanation." Daiki replied calmly.

"Ah!"  Narumi exclaimed happily. "Sato, you don't understand a lot of things, and that's why you're such a dumb ass!"

"Is that so Daiki?" Sato smirked.  "You could tell me the truth. I'm sure that my aunt didn't train her daughter on how to be a good wife, so that's why she won't be able to leave here."

"That's it!"  Narumi yelled before abruptly standing up from her seat. "Get out of my house."

Yuki jumped in shock while Sato laughed heartily.

"I don't think she cracked a joke, Sato. Get out of our house." Akiko snapped angrily. She tried her best to keep quiet throughout, but she couldn't contain herself any longer.

"Girls don't be rude." Yuki reprimanded sternly as she got up from her chair.

"Mom, if he says anything bad about you, then we can't be nice and stay silent." Akiko said as she crossed her arms and glared at Sato.

"I agree."  Daiki said.  "Mr. Chikafuji, your son tried to provoke my wife intentionally by saying something about her mother. Who told you that Yuki ma hasn't trained her daughter well on how to be a good wife?"

"Daiki.." Yuki whispered, but was completely ignored.

"I think it's wrong to try and provoke someone intentionally just for the thrill of it."  Daiki continued glaring at Sato, who felt a little scared under his intense glare. "Yuki ma, I think Narumi shouldn't be forced to stay for this. She's really upset. Can I take her to our room?" Daiki asked in a soft voice to make sure there was no chance that Narumi could hear his words.

Yuki nodded slowly before sighing. "I guess she wouldn't want to stay."

"That's better."  Daiki said with a slight smile, causing Yuki to smile softly as well.

"Can I go as well, mom?" Akiko asked.

"Of course you can." Yuki responded. There wasn't anything she could do because everyone's mood had already been ruined.

'At least I tried my best, but some things can never be repaired.' She thought to herself.
