Chapter 3

In his room alone, Davian stood in front of the larger than life portrait of his wife hanging on the wall. Staring longingly at the woman in the picture. The lady in the picture has delicate facial features, cherry red lips, a small pointy nose, bright and hazel eyes. She was wearing a white evening gown.

Caressing the picture, a lone tear slid down the corner of his eyes. He crumbled to the ground as he sobbed uncontrollably at his loss. He's the family head of a big household and is not allowed to show weakness no matter what. Only when he is alone can he finally show his emotions.

This was the woman he loved for two decades. He silently loved and cared for her with all his heart but she never once looked at him.

Her eyes always wandered off to another person but he was willing to accept it as long as she stayed by his side for a long time but now she's gone.

She left him all alone and he would never be able to see her again. Will not be able to see her smile even if it's not because of him.

Lying in a fetus's position and with a hand covering his mouth to suppressed his screams, he cried alone for a long time.

Somewhere in the outskirts of the city, two women hurriedly pack their belongings in their house" We have to leave this place and move back to our hometown. We can't afford to stay here anymore."said Chana. "Yes mother. We'll take the bus tonight" her daughter Susan agreed.

" Mother, where are we going?" a milky and sweet voice asked. A six years old child in pyjamas holding a doll entered the room. She was a beautiful and cute child. Her features were exquisite, cute and pure like a porcelain doll.

Susan looked at her lovingly, beckoning her to come closer. The little girl walked into the warm arms of his mother.

"Yes princess. We are moving to live with your aunt. You'll love it there" said Susan. She lovingly caressed her hair.

"Okay mommy. Then I'll go get changed" the sensible girl run off to her room. Susan looked at the girl's back with a worried expression, turning to her mother she asked, "Mother, we are doing the right thing isn't it?" Chana nodded.

"This is for the best. Let's forget about the past and move on with our lives. You just have to think about your daughter's well being henceforth".

Calderon Mansion

Davian clad in a dark blue suit walked in to the living room with his personal assistant to find his mother chatting happily with a beautiful woman wearing an expensive designer dress smiling gently.

He looked coldly at the scene. Noticing her son's presence, Madame Donatella smiled happily, "Son look who came to visit us. It's your wife." The woman glanced at the tall and handsome man in front of her and her heart skipped a beat. She gazed at him with deep infatuated eyes.

She is Valerie Adame. The heiress of a multi billion dollars corporation who has been in love with Davian since the first day she saw him. Her relationship with Davian is a little more complicated because they have a child together.

She's the daughter of the Adame family who grew up spoiled and always gets whatever she wants at any cost. When she first saw Davian, she immediately became obsessed with him and wanted to marry him.

However she was ruthlessly rejected by him but unwilling to give up, she drugged him and got herself pregnant in hopes of getting his heart in return. Despite what happened, Davian still treated her coldly and refused to make her his wife.

She has always hated Davian's first wife and believe that someday she'll become the rightful Mrs Calderon.

"Son now that things have come to this, don't you think it's about time that you give your son with Valerie a proper chance to be educated as a Calderon?"said Madame Donatella.

She calmly looked at her son awaiting his answer.

Davian's dark eyes flashed and he clenched his fist tightly but his handsome face remained calmed and expressionless.

"What is mother trying to say?" he asked coldly.

Madame Donatella looked at her aloof son and sighed.

"Marry her.",she uttered.

Valerie's eyes widen in shock before happiness slowly crept up on her face. After all these years, she's finally going to achieve her desire.

"Is that mother's final decision",asked Davian. Madame Donatella nodded firmly.

"As you wish mother". Saying that he walked out of the mansion with his assistant behind him.

Valerie smiled happily as she profusely thanked Madame Donatella for fulfilling her wish. At long last, she'll finally be the woman standing beside him. This is great.

Inside the car, Davian was calmly going through some documents while his assistant Albert looked at him nervously through the rearview mirror. He looks more anxious than his boss.

" Did you go to get my son from the Iskandarani house?" Davian asked.

Assistant Albert nodded" Yes Boss. However the little Master refuse to follow me home. He insisted on staying with Madame Victoria and I couldn't do anything about it." Davian nodded with a sigh.

After a long while and unable to control himself anymore, assistant Albert asked," Boss... are you really going to marry Miss Adame?".

Davian paused before nonchalantly replying," It's just a marriage. Mother wants me to get married so I'll fulfill her wish".

However his eyes were cold as ice. His mother has sacrificed a lot for him and their family hence he's very lenient when dealing with her. He respects and obey her wishes.

However, he will never accept any other woman as his wife especially Valerie Adame. This woman was one of the reasons why he lost his chance with his beloved woman. No rush. There's still a long way to make her slowly account for everything that she owes him.

At a cemetery,

Susan and Chana held hands with the little girl as they offered flowers to a grave.

The little girl looked curiously at the picture on the epitaph and asked, "Mother, who is this pretty lady".

Susan looked at her with sad eyes as she smiled melancholy, "Child, she is mother's old friend. Always remember that she's a very kind and generous person okay".

The little girl looked at her mother and nodded and then she turned to look at the picture and flash a sweet smile, "Hello pretty lady. My name is Angel. Nice to meet you". She spoke in a sweet baby voice.

Chana looked on sadly. " My lady. We are leaving this place for a while. Don't worry someday we'll bring back the little miss to pay her respect. I'll protect her with my life." she thought.

After a while, they left together.

Outside the the cemetery, a young boy holding flowers alighted from a car. Opposite him stood Chana, Susan and the little girl Angel entering a cab.

The moment the boy laid eyes on the little girl, his eyes widen in shock as his gaze remained transfixed on the little girl. Tears welled up in his eyes and he started to tremble.

Seeing the boy's strange reaction, the chauffeur panicked, Little master, what is wrong with you?Are you feeling unwell somewhere" the middle aged man asked looking nervous and worried.

His little Master had been calmed all the way here and suddenly this reaction. He doesn't want to lose his job because of negligence. The boy awakens from his trance to see the cab driving away.

Panicking, he started to chase after the car with his small feet, crying and calling out for them to stop.

However the car was already too far away and he couldn't catch up. Defeated he fell to his knees crying.

His strange actions perplexed and distressed the chauffeur even more.

Inside the car, the little girl stared curiously at the boy kneeling in the middle of road crying pitifully.
