CHAPTER 1

Hi I'm Alexa from Los Angeles, my mom and dad got divorced when I was 13 years and I had to relocate with my Dad to Georgia..since then things became tough when my dad married my stepmom Maria, she had an annoying daughter named Christabel, she was about my age, she had curly hair and blue eyes..We started attending the same high school, and Christabel gained popularity because of her beauty and sense of fashion.

At 11th grade my dad was so sick and I became worried cause my stepmom and sis didn't show any care to him instead they started claiming his property and money.

I had to work hard so that I could afford the money for my dad hospital bills..

MARIA POV:

Alexa I got a job offer for you, you got to work at a rich man's house as a maid, so that you can afford to pay your dad fees..and besides I know your dad isn't going to make it , he's in his late 40 and will die anytime soon..so sorry that you're gonna loss your dad.

ALEXA POV:

( Shocked with what Maria just said)

Mom why did you just say such thing?

Shhhh your mouth, and remember one thing I'm not your mom and can never be your mom..you got a mom out they in Los Angeles, who doesn't care about you or your useless dad.I felt cold running down my spine when Maria said this words, I got up and went outside...I loved my mom so much and always wished I could see her again sometimes I thought if she was still alive..I closed my eyes and thought of what Maria told me about a job offer and I decided to grab the offer..I went back inside and went to my mom well my step mom and told her that I was interested in the job offer.

MARIA POV:

Okay, get your things ready tomorrow by 8 am we are leaving..and don't let anyone know it's a secret between me and you with Christabel, and I want you to know that I get 50 percent of your salary, but mom why? You know we need this money to pay dad hospital bills..I told you about this work and so I have the right to take 50 percent of it.

Now get out of my sight.

ALEXA POV:

I signed and left, I went to meet my friend Dave from high school, well he was the only friend I got now, as I worked by I could here so noise from a nearby place probably some kids were having some fun there. I finally got to Dave house , Dave wasn't from a rich family well they could at least afford his school fees, shelter, food etc. That's what really matters.

I rang the door bell and Britney, Dave sister opened the door..Hey, Alexa come in I stepped inside and saw Dave on the couch watching TV, hey Dave. Sup Alexa. All good, I guess

DAVE POV:

Are you sure? you look dull this evening, I hope everything is alright..yea.

I observed Alexa face and she looked worried, and I decided to cheer her up, Alexa lets go grab some ice_ cream.

No, thanks. I ain't got no appetite.
