CH273. I am the chairman!

"What?" The old man turns to look at him in anger. "Are you going to tell me what I should do? She is an employee here, and I am the chairman!"

Even Ye Xiao Xiao shivers at his voice. But she pretends to be okay and follows behind him.

The old man opens the door and walks in. And he shuts it the moment Ye Xiao Xiao gets in.

He walks to one of the shelves and brings a piece of paper, throwing it to Ye Xiao Xiao's face.

"See if you can manage to do that," he says without any care.

Ye Xiao Xiao picks up the paper that has fallen on the floor and takes a seat.

She runs her eyes over the lines of words. It looks like a procedure for making something, but she is not sure what it is.

"What is this for?" She asks the old man.

"Who gave you the audacity to question me? Just tell me if it is possible or not," the old man roars at her.

Ye Xiao Xiao purses her lips, looking at him. These things appear strange to her. She is not sure she can do them. Unless she tries them fast.

"Let me tell you young girl," the old man speaks up and moves closer to her. "Whatever we do here is confidential. If anything is to leak outside..."

Ye Xiao Xiao swallows hard and nods her head. "I will try," she says and moves closer to a computer.

"We shall be coming here every Friday. This is one of my own inventions. We have to complete it," the old man says again.

The whole day, Ye Xiao Xiao sits behind the computer, keying in codes and numbers that even she is not aware of.

But she finds herself going. And it feels like there is something controlling her.

She keeps asking herself what it could be that they are making, but she goes against the idea of asking again.

She does what he tells her from time to time.

Lu Min Chen does not get settled even once. From morning, Ye Xiao Xiao has been inside that room. She had not even taken lunch.

All these days she has been in the company, Lu Min Chen was always keeping an eye on her behind her back.

He would only eat his lunch after he was sure that Ye Xiao Xiao had eaten.

He would even personally go through the the work she had done  during the day.

On her second day, she was given more than enough work. And the senior who did that was not left unlectured.

Everyone has left the company apart from Lu Min Chen and his assistant. 

And they keep staring at the lab with the lights still on. None of them speaks, but the air around them says everything.

It is only at eight o'clock that Ye Xiao Xiao finally walks out. She looks emaciated, and her eyes are so red, obviously so tired.
