Manager Wang, also known as Wang Joshi, was a renowned figure in the Jin Sect province. Alongside his friends Jing Ti, Fang Han, Wong Rong, and Fang Lang, they were the first to reach the final stage of the Imperial exam in nearly 200 years.

Before the exam, Wang was a novice manager who revitalized the Tao Chan clothing line, a dying business of the Chan family. Despite previous failed attempts by seasoned managers and pressure from the royal ministry for private businesses to shut it down, Wang succeeded in reviving the clothing line.

This accomplishment elevated Wang from an ordinary scholar to a respected manager. His success with the Chan family business led to lucrative rewards. Other struggling family businesses sought his expertise, further solidifying Wang's reputation among the affluent.

Subsequently, Wang brought his wife and the rest of his family from the village to the town where he had established his successful business. Following this triumph, the second-to-last Imperial exam, which would bring Manager Wang one step closer to official status, arrived. Wang Joshi sat for the exam and emerged victorious once more.
