After the battle, Ariawyn went to treat her injuries in the spring. She had seen any of the party of females nor the hero they chase after.
During the battle, she lost an eye. Her hair was shorter than usual. She has permeant damage. She will be disabled, it seems. Her legs will no longer be as fast as they used to.
She closed her eyes under the cool water, under the captivating moonlight. She seemed to sink deeper into the lake.
Was she drawing? No, she is using earth and light magic to allow her breath. Her expression was sour as she reminisced about something in her past. The boy constantly picking fights with her, and her winning in the end.
Suddenly, she was pulled to the surface.
"Edward," Ariawyn said lightly with surprise. The Hero was close to her with flustered eyes and a reddish face. For a moment, Ariawyn was charmed by it until she remembers her story. And turned her face away and moved to get out from under him.
"..." The hero said nothing, but his eyes were sadly on his back.
Ariawyn started to walk away, ignoring his sad gaze. She doesn't clearly understand. But, doesn't care too when everything around her went white.
"True, your Life is part of a story, but a story only reflects the surface through a veil."
Ariawyn could not help but turn around to see Rachel's dull eyes, and it looked like she had been crying. Ariawyn frowned and wondered what she saw in the women, and it was her guess the sight made her upset.
"Have you ever asked yourself? Why, Did you chase after the hero? Are you sure it was love and affection and not something else? Doesn't give a clear answer. There is an answer you must seek within the hero." Rachel's voice wobbled, and the white space disappeared.
Ariawyn was brought back to the forest and stood for a moment in wonder. Before she turned around, things she had never thought of. She never took a good look at the hero because she wasn't willing to become a slave of love.
But, Rachel's words made her think. Where they're really a reason? She is the story loved the hero and wanted him. Things are not clear and what she knows is limited.
She turned around and watched the hero's eyes grew wide as she walked to him. And Sat down at his eye level, she held his face to hers before she put his lips on his face.
Edward's eyes widen as his face grew redder and redder with shock.
It was a beautiful moment captured by the moonlight. Ariawyn softly let go of his face, and her hands went along with her face.
She started talking and going into a full-on panic mood.
Her connection to the Xeron Tree was immediately restored and by a single kiss a. When it was, it told her the truth. The hero is an orphan, and the story starts with him as an infant being found by a priest. His parents or any blood-related family.
Edward was a child born from the Xeron Tree itself, a child of the tree. That is why he was chosen as a hero. Although he looked human, the hero is, in fact, an elf.
Without hesitation, she pushed him down as she started pulling off his clothes.
"You...What are you doing?" he said, panicked.
"Sex…. Obviously"
"…..What…..?" he said once again into the realm of shock.
"Why, You don't like me," She said solemnly.
"That's not it…..aren't you rushing things a bit" his voice crocked.
"No"
"But."
"But, what?"
"..." his showed all sorts of hesitation.
"No objections then," her gaze softened as her face drew closer and closer, each inch left Edward enchanted. He didn't refuse.
By morning, Ariawyn had already gotten dressed and brought the hero back to his chambers in the nearby inn. That was closest to the town. She suspected that was how he found her.
She passed stayed in this inn for a night before going into the forest. She kept the hero asleep with her magic, but only for a bit longer. Once she reached the forest, she disappeared, almost as if she never wanted to be seen again.
