What a joke

"What a joke." I knew it wouldn't be that special when I read the text, but experiencing it was more disappointing than expected. Raptor squirrels were abundant in the forest of Epheotus. The two tailed squirrels were practically harmless animals no different than a regular squirrel back on earth. The only quality they varied in was their abnormal sensitivity.

The squirrels were especially sensitive to my pure white core stage mana. To a degree that leaking even a bit of  pure mana didn't necessarily drive them away, but alarmed them to a degree that it would be impossible to catch them.

Of course that was only when I didn't cast magic spells.

The other thing was that internalizing mana didn't trigger their senses, but too much concentration and focus did cause my intent to leak out and stimulate them.

But the most notable thing that aligned with the contents of the script was that they were blind to external mana flow.

And this is where the problems started…

My strong points had become my weakness at this point. Even without trying, my concentration and focus was so deep that it would automatically trigger their senses even when I'm sleeping. In other words, they were always aware of my presence.

From a logical standpoint, it would be better to use another approach, but I've been mulling over this fact, trying to work my way around it.

Arthur had a head start in that regard due to mana rotation technique taught by the dragon. With a perfect balance of mana, he was able to conceal his presence. It was akin to a camouflage with a veil of mana just as potent as the mana scattered in his surroundings.

I decided…. To do the exact opposite. I spread out my potent mana to such a degree that all the animals around me who were concealing themselves with the environment's mana became visible like a beacon.

It was the exact application of 'radar'…..but much more potent.

'They can't run away and hide with that camouflage technique.'

Whoosh—!

A blur passed by through my eyes as I sped toward the squirrels and caught it like a toy.

….And that is why I was disappointed.

"Four hours…" It took exactly four hours improve 'Radar' and catch onto the basics of 'Mirage Walk' the technique for which Thyestes clan is renowned for. It took Arthur years to learn the techniques and hone his combat prowess, but I completed everything except for the camouflage within a week.

….No, has it even been a week?

If I were to count the hours, 144 hours have passed since I met Windsom at Elenoir so my stay in Epheotus was less than 6 days….

"Should I just go back to inventing stuff? Magic is starting to lose its brilliance in my eyes."

"Congratulations, lesser." Windsom appeared behind me to acknowledge my feats, but honestly, I was not ready to hear it.

"Do you people have anything more to offer? Or is this the best you asuras have?"

"Watch your tone, Andrew"

I stopped the incoming sigh and went back to Kordri's place…..or at least that was what I planned to do.

"Follow me, we will now head to your new teacher."

"No thanks." I said before creating a pair of metal boots from mana a flew up after activating the thrusters. Leaving a dumbfounded asura behind, who would probably seethe in rage after a few seconds.

"Kordri, you're here."

"I don't think you should be saying that now? Where is Windsom."

"No time to explain, I'll be leaving this place shortly, so let's fight one last time."

"No"

"..."

"...."

"See you then." I said before blasting off towards the other continent. It had been a while since I last blasted the city, honestly, I was now confident to win against him with ease. I knew Kordri did not show most of his powers when he fought me, but based on his nature, it would be correct to assume he accidentally revealed at least half of his capabilities.

"If he's within the scope I set, then Agrona really isn't that much of a pain to deal with."

But first…

Splash—!

The ocean water rose up as I dived in to its deep trenches. An air bubble preventing the water from entering it and crushing me with the pressure.

….Can it crush me though?

A small speck of curiosity rose its head and I indulged it by putting my head out the bubble.

Crack—!

That doesn't sound good....

I pulled my head back and cast healing magic to fix my torn eardrums and cracked skull before expanding the bubble upon reaching the seabed.

"Aahh….I missed this." The metallic texture was wet from being exposed to salt water and had some rust over it but a simple reconstruction spell brought it back to pristine conditions.

[Rebooting software]

[Welcome back, sir. Good to see you after….. I'm sorry but I cannot connect with the internet at the moment]

"Good to see you too veritas. And don't worry about that. We're not on earth" I spoke to the familiar voice, this time from outside my head. It took a little ingenuity from me to make a replica of him. He basically had real body inside the underwater base I made.

The newer version of him had all the memories my original had and was able to keep up its predecessor's performance thanks to the new quantum computer.

It was a nightmare for me to bring out quantum mechanical effects, such as superposition and quantum interference. But the real hard part was bringing out the ability for I/O in that box of technology. Understanding the implementation by theory was easy, but to actuate the results….. oh boy.

There was a reason why Hitogami had to use so much mana to make a fully functioning quantum computer like veritas.

To put it into scale, about 20% of his expended mana was used to fit it inside my subconscious, the other 80% was put into the damn thing itself. I should also mention that 100% of that mana is almost as big as Rudeus's reserves when he becomes a real man.

…..Which is a fucking LOT! Like….my reserves are scaled to a snowball if Rudeus's is a lake.

Though the problem minimized itself drastically thanks to the laws of this world.

Again, the inhabitants of this world can create Mega-scale magic with as much mana Rudeus needs to make a small puddle of water. So the demands for shredding mana into energy and reconstruct it into matter, although not large…was big.

"Drain out the water and pressurize the chamber. I don't want to keep this bubble up any longer."

[Confirmed]

I closed the hatch and waited until the conditions were safe enough for me to pop my bubble.

The neon lights illuminated my base revealing a messy area with lots of trash in it. Some of my clothes were stinking but….I really can't wash them in the ocean.

[You can use the clean spell, sir]

"…..Shush"

I stepped on the hover board and let myself glide through the long hallways until I reached my destination.

"Run a diagnosis on the terminals and tell me the RPM on this thing." I knocked on the spherical motor with my ring and conducted some tests before moving onto the real parts.

…Oh! You want to know what I'm building?

Well it's actually a-
