Chloe finally ruined me…

Jake

I woke up to my head pounding like a drum in a rock band. I groaned as I sat up, the faint sunlight filtering through the curtains stinging my eyes. For a moment, I didn't know where I was. The bed was too large, too empty.

The ringing phone on the nightstand jolted me back to reality. I grabbed it, squinting at the screen. It was Nate.

"Jake! Where the hell are you?!" Nate's voice was frantic.

I winced, holding the phone away from my ear. "What are you talking about? I'm here, aren't I?"

"No, you're not! We've been looking for you all night. You were supposed to stay at the penthouse. Laura's probably awake by now, man! The wedding's in a few hours!"

That's when the events of the night came rushing back to me. The bachelor party. The drinks. The shots. The… nothing. My mind blanked after a certain point.

"I... I don't know how I got up here," I admitted, my voice hoarse.
