Chapter 8

I woke up, after watching some movies on the Internet. I went to bed, who would have thought that staying at home could be so boring. I set an alarm to 12:00pm, I fell asleep. So many hours later I was awoken by the alarm but I want to sleep a little longer. The alarm kept on ringing and ringing, I hit the alarm so hard that it fell to the ground and broke.

I slept a little longer. I woke up and I found my alarm on the floor. How did it get there? I ran fingers through my hair, I picked my phone and looked at the time. It was 12:35pm. Oh shit I'm late, I don't know if this person might still be there. I rushed to the closet to get dressed, then I remembered I haven't showered.

I looked at the time and then the bathroom. I don't have time, I got changed and I applied a perfume. I rushed downstairs and I hauled a cab. I got to the café, I walked pass a man who's looking quite handsome. He wore an expensive suit, I sat down close to a window waiting for the mystery guy to show up.

I picked up the menu cause I felt like ordering a cup of coffee. The man in the suit walked up to me. "Is this seat taken?" The guy asked. "Um.....yeah but the person isn't here yet" I said. "Can I keep you company?" He asked. I don't know....should I be talking to a stranger?....I'm old enough now. What if he kidnaps me?...No he can't, there are witnesses around.

"Eh.....sure" I said. The guy sat down in fornt of me. "So are you waiting for your boyfriend?" He asked. "No" I replied. "Who are you waiting for then if not your boyfriend?" He asked. "Um....i was suppose to meet Someone but i guess I was so late that person left" I said. "Do you know this person?" He asked. "No...I've never seen him in my life" I said. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you...Lilith" He asked. I immediately froze.

"How.....how did you know my name?" I asked. "Isn't it obvious.....?" He asked. I stared at him in surprise and I was speechless. "I do understand that a woman needs time to get ready but you.....it took you thirty five minutes to get ready but still you didn't put on make up or an expensive dress" He said. "Why in God's name would I put on make up? I mean it's not like I'm going on a date or something...you're complaining about me, what about you? You're dressed like you're going for a royal ball" I said

"What's wrong with my outfit?" He asked. "Well you asked me to meet you at a café and here you are dressed like you're taking me to an expensive restaurant for a date...I mean you could have wore a T-shirt and a jean or perhaps something comfortable.....not these" I said pointing at his suit. "I like you...you're honest, I love peoples honesty and for that you got the job" He said. "Excuse me?....I barely know you, I don't know your name and suddenly you tell me I got the job?" I said

"My name is Mark and I'd like to employ you" He said. "What would you like to order? A waiter asked. "Whatever she wants" He said. Is he trying to be a gentle man right now?. "I'd like a cup of coffee and a chocolate dessert cake with moose filling" I said, the waiter left. "What kind of job are we talking about?" I asked "you're to help my brother find love" Mark said.

"How in God's name am I supposed to do that?" I asked. "I have faith in you and from what I've heard you helped a friend of mine" Mark said. "Do you mean Nathaniel?" I asked. "Yes" He replied. "I didn't do anything special...they already had feelings for each other" I said. "Here you go" The waiter said. She placed the order and left, I picked up the fork and I began to eat.

"Lilith I really need your help.....you're the only one I can turn to" Mark said. "Why?...look I can't help you.....I'm not Cupid that could shoot love arrows into the sky" I said. "Nathaniel was certain that you'd do a good job" Mark said. "So the only thing I have to do is help your brother find a girlfriend?" I asked "Yes and you'd live in our house" Mark said. "So I get a place to stay?" I asked "Yes" He said.

"Could I think about it?" I asked. "Sure" Mark said. "Thank you" I said. "Alright then I'd take my leave" He said while dropping some money for the order. "You don't have to" I said. "It's okay I asked you to come so I have to take care of it" Mark said. He left and I stayed behind thinking about everything. Although it's not a bad idea.....I mean I get a free place to stay and free food, it's not bad but I still have to think about it. I finished my orded, I picked up the money to pay then I realized that the money could cover my rent and I'd still get a lot of money left.

I paid for the order and I went home. I got home and I found a box In front of my door. I picked it up and I went inside, I opened the box and I found a wedding dress inside and a note that says your dress for our wedding, if you don't like it let me know. Love Wesley. I brought out the dress and it was beautiful but I'm not going to wear it. I looked out the window and I found an expensive car packed outside the building and my gut's telling me that Wesley is in it. I picked up the box and threw it out the window and I gave him the middle finger.
