CHAPTER 9: The Best Solution

"Hmmmmmm, so which kingdom do you think would have the guts create this damage." Onyx asked.

" I'm not sure but it's between the three kingdoms fighting against ours for the supreme power. Aquistak, Suiviyam or Ovrinoda" I answered my brother.

" And you are sure it's accurate" Onyx asked

" No, that's where you come in. I need you to figure out the truth through your spies" I explained

" ok sis, you can count on me" Onyx said and left. I smiled at myself knowing fully well that the story was more than what we can comprehend.

" I'll just wait for this story to unfold itself"

Two Days Later, In the library

" Sis I've gotten the information on the kingdom responsible for the damage" Onyx told me with a long face.

" Hey what's up with that expression of yours" I asked him

" Dad is not going to like the results" he answered still brooding.

" Stop keeping me in suspense, who is the perpetrator"I asked again

"It's the kingdom Aquistak and Suiviyam doing" he replied. Then it dawned on me why he had that expression, these two kingdoms are in a good relationship with ours and they are also the second to our kingdom in every aspect. I glanced at my brother and said

"Why are you so moody then"

"Because dad had recently just given them a peace treaty and I'm wondering what more they are after" he answered

" Isn't obvious" I asked looking at the shelves

" What? "he answered

" They want more power and more importantly I suspect that the peace treaty is just a facade" I said

" What do you mean" he asked again

" It means that our father didn't just propose a peace treaty to the whole continent but a deeper proposition and it doesn't sit well with the other kings"I said calmly

" What are you saying, i was there when they signed the treaty..... "

" And did you read"I asked cutting through his words.

" No, it was strictly for kings only" he answered almost immediately

"So how are you so sure" I asked and he went quiet. After some time of silence he looked at me and asked

" When are they going to attack again"

" Most likely in a few months time because they also need to prepare their army for attack"I answered. I sighed so hard that he gave me a look and asked

" What's going on with you"

" It's just that we need more army strength and more manpower. I mean that we know that each of those kingdom have at least 70% of our our so going to war with them will be actually foolish" I replied absentmindedly.

" I have the solution" onyx said

" What?"I asked

" I'll tell dad to have a union with another kingdom" he answered. I looked at him disapprovingly and asked

" And how are you sure that he'll listen to you, we both know how proud he gets sometimes"

" Well,we just have to try" onyx said

" We? bro you are alone on this you know how dad hates my guts. so,byeeee" I said waking out of the library.
