Chapter 22

　　Barbara was a little embarrassed by Shirley's departure, but the embarrassment did not equal the attention Shirley's promotion brought, so Barbara ignored it.

　　Morton watched Shirley leave and ask Barbara, "Mrs. Sarton, Shirley must love her husband a lot, right?"

　　Barbara knew that Morton meant to ease her embarrassment, and she had a better impression of him.

　　She smiled, "Shirley is young and arrogant. She was not satisfied with her grandfather's arrangement, so she married this man. But I'm her mother, I know you're the right kind of man for her."

　　Morton was getting more confidence to get Shirley after what she said.

　　Morton planned to win more affection from Barbara.

　　He said, "Mrs. Sarton, I wonder if you are interested in investment. I am in charge of an investment project recently. The rate of return is pretty high. Of course, only if you're interested."

　　"Yes. I am!" Barbara quickly replied. She would never miss an opportunity to make money.
