"I like how direct you are Ms. Raven, I appreciate it, so I would not shy away as well," Mr. Sterling said and there was that nasty grin of his again. "I don't have any reason to be in contact with Ravens & Co. Our businesses are far apart from each other, they don't really overlap, do they?" Mr. Sterling cocked an eyebrow, smirking at Darcy.
"You might not but I certainly do," Darcy tried to sound as calm as possible while her blood was boiling from inside just by being in that man's presence alone.
"Oh really?" Mr. Sterling was genuinely surprised.
"Yes. The Cedar Willow community is dear to me, it's pretty sentimental. The elderly living there with no retirement plans are the only people who were my grandfather's comrades back in the days and although he is no more, I would like to preserve the community where he shared his memories," Darcy spoke everything with conviction, but her words were far from the truth.
