Chapter 29
"But you are so old and don't even have a girlfriend or a wife ,"Adele murmured which he heard.
"Adele ,I am only 30 . Don't know why you think I am old ,it's you who is very young ,"Dante felt sore when she pointed out their age difference.
"Remember to stay away from Hudson ,"Dante continued.
"You can't tell me what I should ,"Adele did not like Dante dictating her life .
"He doesn't seem like a good influence on you ,I am telling for you good ,"Hudson ordered her.
"You have not even met him ,also I am smart enough to decided what's good for me ,"Adele fumed.
Dante was about to reply but his phone rang at the exact moment ,his expression darkened as soon as he saw the caller's name. Without even giving her a second glance he was out of the store within a minute.
Adele stomped her foot in frustration ,how can he leave in the middle of an argument .Not only did he boss her around but also went away without even acknowledging her, she cannot let him take her so lightly and when they meet next time she will surely ignore him.
Almost twenty days passed and there was no sign of Dante ,there was not even a call or message from him. At first she looked forward to meet him even though she was angry at him but slowly she started to lose hope.
Then one fine afternoon she spotted Dante's black car .She stood there for a second then turned around, she could hear the horn sound but pretended not to.
The car followed her and lowering the glass ,Dante asked her to get in.
"No , I have somewhere to go ,"Adele refused .
"Then let me drop you ,"Dante replied.
"What if you are a serial killer ,take me to the woods and kill me ,"Adele's eyes widened.
"Stop being so dramatic ,"Dante rolled his eyes.
"Dramatic and me ,never .I am being cautions ,"Adele pretended to be serious .
"Get in the car , I don't have all day for this ,"Dante ran his hand on his face impatiently.
"Then go, who's stopping you ,"Adele scoffed.
"Last time I am saying get in ,otherwise if I come then it will really look like a kidnapping ,"Dante warned her.
Adele did not move from her spot but when he opened his door she got alerted and quickly went to sit inside his car.
"Well, that wasn't hard,"Dante chuckled.
"I did you a favor ,what if anyone sees you forcing me into the car and complained to the cops .Instead of being thankful you are laughing at me ,"Adele hated how smug he looked.
"Sure ,how do you expect me to repay your kindness ,"Dante asked still laughing .
"May be inform me before disappearing for so long ,"Adele sounded bitter than she intended to.
Even though she did not realize but his absence haunted her ,he was always at the back of her mind.
"Adele ,I didn't mean to but there was some emergency .Usually when I am caught up in work other things tend to go unnoticed ,"Dante explained.
She noticed he had a bit of dark circles under his eyes and looked dead tired but still it did not affect his handsomeness ,not wanting to argue she let it go and gave a small smile.
"Forgot about all those ,I am taking you out ,"Dante was relieved that she was no longer angry at him.
"It may take some time so I got you a sandwich in case you get hungry ,"Dante indicated towards the brown paper bag in the backseat . Adele unwrapped the paper and took a bite of the sandwich.
"So yummy ,meat is so tender and the sauce perfect blend of sour and sweetness ,"she moaned.
Dante had a content expression seeing her eat ,he always made sure to feed her whenever they met. May be it was because he felt bad for her growing up in an orphanage where three meals a day was considered luxury.
Adele had dozed off on the journey and only woke up when Dante gently called her name .
"Did we reach ,"Adele looked around but couldn't make out where they had come .
"Yes ,get down slowly ,"Dante instructed as the ground was rocky.
As she stepped out she noticed they were in front of the flower field .A huge smile came on her face as she was met with such a breathtaking view.
"We have going a have a picnic here ",Dante took out a bamboo basket from the car.
As Adele lay the blanket on the ground ,she saw how well the basket was packed.
"Did you do it ,"Adele pointed towards the basket doubtfully.
"No,my help did ,"Dante answered.
"Are we allowed here ,did you take permission from the owner ,"Adele's first concern was this.
"Of course, I did .Even otherwise no one will question me,"Dante scoffed.
Adele couldn't help but think about this man's identity , he always looked so arrogant and refused to bow to anyone.
Should she be running from him ,maybe or maybe not .Not when he took her out of her ordinary boring life and showed she can finally let go of control and live a bit more ,not just survive.
"I have been in this city my whole life but never knew such place existed ,"Adele had a dreamy look on her face.
As it was evening the sky had turned a bright shade of orange with hints of yellow . The cool breeze was making her hair move in all directions .The colorful flowers instantly bought her immense happiness and the serene surrounding bought her calmness.
"So you spent all your time on studying ,"Dante asked.
"Of course ,what else will I do,"Adele replied.
She had no choice growing up in the orphanage as she did not have time nor money to enjoy even the simplest luxurious of life.
