Madness That Dances Under the Moon

A strange man pestered a young boy, “You look bored, do you wish to hear of the time when gods would walk upon the mortal plane? The story of Madness that Dances Under the Moon?” “Uh? No? Ah wait please!! Don’t leave!! Just a bit of your time!!!” The man pleaded. “I’m not giving you money.” The boy said. “No, no! It’s fine I don’t need money! Just listen to my story!” The man said, frantically trying to convince the boy. “What the hell? Ask someone else.” The boy looked at the man warily. “And let me tell you this, if you try to kidnap me, I’m very sick in the head, so I might just go crazy.” “I’m not going to kidnap you! Really, I just want you to listen to me!” The man said. “Ok, maybe I believe you, but why me of all people?!” The boy asked, flabbergasted at the man’s conviction in making him stay. “Well, Erm. I can see it in you!! Your aura and personality! Your looks!! It has to be you!” The man explained. The boy looked at the the crazy man. Who would be insane enough to follow a random crazy? ‘I am.’ The boy thought.

Era of Chaos

There was once a saying… The gods are really pitiful.

Gods can only be gods, death for them was never eternal. But perhaps they had found a way to make death last forever.

Madness, the god of respite had been dead for over a century. What did this mean?

Escape.

While many of the younger gods feared death, the majority of them welcomed it with open arms. And so, chaos became intertwined with the celestial realm.

The Era of Chaos had begun.

"Are you done? Or is this just volume 1?" The boy asked, kicking his legs.

"I guess you could say that, well, any questions?" The man said happily. The boy thought for a minute before speaking.

"Why did the god of justice decide to not do anything? Like the other guys said, shouldn't he have been the first one to do something? Since he is the god of justice and all?" The boy said curiously.

"Well, at that time, gods weren't very unique. There was only gods of existing concepts, and even then, the gods mostly did what they wanted." The man said

"Elaborate."

The man crossed his arms, "Tell me what you know about the gods now." The boy looked at him in confusion, but answered anyways.

"Uhh, there's a lot of them? Oh yeah, their names are fucking long too, sometimes they don't even make sense. Like, what the hell is even 'Harlot that Devours the Ocean'?"

The man nodded his head, "The gods we know have very unique names, along with powers that match them. Now, let's take the god of craving as an example, what comes to mind when you think of craving?"

"Food."

"Right, usually food comes to mind. Now, let's keep in mind that back then, gods only came into existence because of the mortals. Like the god of craving, who existed because mortals craved food and such."

The boy tilted his head, "And what about it?"
