Denver's POV
"Are you ready to change?" Adolphus' statement made me stop in my tracks.
"Are you ready to change this time when she comes? Are you sure you wouldn't make more mistakes? Are you sure you won't leave her regretting again?" Brazenly, he fired me with questions.
"You have no right to ask me such questions, Adolphus." I faced him, looking angry.
"Of all people, you should know how much I love Celia and why I take some steps back in order not to hurt her." I reminded him.
"Maybe it's a good thing that she's no longer here with us." He spilled bluntly and I clenched my fist in anger.
"What?" I growled at his face.
"She has suffered a lot, My Alpha. I know I shouldn't meddle in your relationship but it's obvious. Luna Cecilia suffered so much that if I wasn't your right-hand man, I would have escaped with her." As he spoke, I noticed sincerity, regret and annoyance in his tone.
