"The number of troops near us diminished a lot. I doubt they are giving up."

Kanai also found the situation weird.

The enemies usually always had troops surrounding them, even if they didn't really enact in battle since it was mostly to control their movements.

It would be a problem if Alrein and Kanai were able to leave that place and roam free in their universe. They were worried about the passageway, so they weren't moving from there, but the universe creator of that universe was quite a coward and didn't dare to make a bet.
