No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to focus on work. Between my aching shoulder, my guilt for sneaking out of Adriano’s penthouse the way I did, and my thoughts continually rotating around to my old man and the fact he made me into a bargaining chip, I was struggling to say the least. Seriously, who does that to their own flesh and blood?
Every time I thought back to when I was a kid, I wondered if he really cared about me like I thought he had. What if I had never meant anything at all? What if he had knocked my mom up just to get money from someone? What if this whole thing had been a plan prior to me being born? What if Rex and Adriano were lying to me? No, why would they lie about something so horrendous?
Plus, who the hell was Tony’s son?
