In the dead of night, Abigail sprinted with the agility of a cheetah, her determination driving her forward. Clutching onto someone tightly, whose face remained obscured in the darkness, she repeated the words, "I will protect you," like a mantra. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, the scent emanating from the person in her arms reassured her—it was Lucky.
"I won't let them take you away... Nothing will happen to you, I promise," she vowed, her voice resolute as she raced onward, her sole focus on keeping him safe.
Her once pristine white gown now bore the scars of her desperate flight, torn in places from the rough terrain. Her bare feet, bloodied and bruised, told the story of her relentless journey through the night.
"Abigail," the voice echoed through the eerie silence, causing her to halt in her tracks. She turned to look at the man beside her, his features obscured by shadows, yet a sense of familiarity lingered in his voice.
"Abigail," he called again, his voice firm yet gentle as he held her hand and drew her close to him.
"There's nowhere left to run, look around" he continued, his tone commanding. Reluctantly, she looked around and realized they stood at the edge of a cliff, with nothing but void yawning below them.
"Why don't you just let me handle them? I'll take care of anyone who dares to threaten us," he reassured her, his voice steady and determined.
"No, no, they're too powerful," she countered, her voice trembling with fear. "They'll hurt you and take you away, and I can't bear to let that happen." She glanced around anxiously, feeling as helpless as a lost rabbit in the face of the looming danger.
"I will never let that happen, no one is going to take me away from you. Your Lucky is not going anywhere. I love you, and I will always love you. Our love will last longer than you imagine," he assured, gently patting her hair. But as soon as those words settled in Abigail's brain, she suddenly pushed him back and stared at him with daggers in her eyes.
"Who said I love you? When did I tell you that I love you? You are nothing but a big fool, a fool that will forever be a fool!" she yelled, taking a step backward. Lucky was so shocked and speechless that he just stared at her, utterly confused.
"Abigail, what are you saying? Don't joke around," he pleaded, his voice filled with disbelief and hurt. He doesn't not understand the sudden change of event.
"Do you think this is the time for joking around? I've never loved you, and I will never love you. I just used you for my own benefit, and you see where we are now? I purposely tricked you to come here. I'm going to end your history here once and for all. You easily got tricked into becoming a love bird, huh? You are a fool!" she yelled, a dagger appearing in her hand.
"Abi, what is all this? What are you saying? Just stop all this nonsense talk. Stop saying rubbish; it hurts," he pleaded, trying to walk close to her with tears in his eyes, clutching his chest hard due to the shocking words Abi was saying. "Abi, please don't do this. I love you."
"Don't come close to me! Do you really think I love you? See, there's nothing like true love; understand, true love doesn't exist, man. Get over that. I've gotten what I want from you, so you are useless to me now. It's useless keeping you. You are nothing but a burden, so that's why I'm going to end it all right now," she said, gripping the dagger's hilt and walking closer to Lucky.
"Say your last prayers, boy," she advised as she stabbed his chest hard with the dagger, blood pouring out from the wound.
