EXT. ROADLAMP - DAY

The lights flicker on and off, while Cael waits under the luminous roadlamp for Luzy. A cold breeze passes through making him shiver.

CAEL

Where the hell are you, Luzy?

He walks around the lamp and after a while, starts leaning on it and in the end slumps down.

CAEL (CONT'D)

Did she forget?

LUZY

Cael!

Suddenly, Luzy is seen from afar running towards Cael, as she steps onto several puddles, splashing the water everywhere.

CAEL

You know, that's the first time someone came later than me.

LUZY

I really am sorry, did you wait long?

CAEL

No, just for 15 minutes.

LUZY

Then It's not too bad, I thought you would wait longer.

CAEL

I was actually late too.

LUZY

Oh, I knew it.

CAEL

Hey, don't judge me, you were late too.

LUZY

I wasn't judging you.

CAEL

So what are we up to today?

LUZY

Obviously, we gotta work on the project.

CAEL

But that's not the only reason, right?

LUZY

Hm, why would you say that, I wonder?

CAEL

Why else would you want to meet on the road, Luzy? Definitely not to work on a project or anything like that, we need a table to do that at least.

LUZY

Woah, are you a detective or something like that?

CAEL

It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

LUZY

Well, you caught me. I actually had other plans today.

CAEL

LUZY

The reason for why I couldn't meet up with you two in the beginning, and why I wanted to meet outside was simple - Soon, it will be Eves birthday. So I wanted to ask if you wanna go buy stuff for her with me.

CAEL

Uhh, that's it?

LUZY

I wanna make it a huge surprise. I can already her eyes sparkling when she sees everything I've done for her. Maybe she might actually appreciate me more.

CAEL

LUZY

CAEL

LUZY

Because Eves such a cute girl. Why would anybody not wanna hang out with her? If I invite others, I wonder how many would come.

CAEL

LUZY

CAEL

LUZY

CAEL

(screaming)

Luzy suddenly freezes up, and looks Cael in the eye.

LUZY

CAEL

LUZY

LUZY

But, but, it was just a guess.

CAEL

As if you could have just guessed that, what are you hiding?

LUZY

CAEL

Luzy nods.

CAEL (CONT'D)

Ah, sorry, I seem to have mistrusted you for a moment.

LUZY

Uhm, I don't really get it, but it's okay.

CAEL

Well, no use crying over spilled milk, and you might still be able to help me.

LUZY

What do you need? Her favorite color is red by the way.

CAEL

No that's not it. I wanted to ask you something about her sister.

LUZY

Oh, are you sure? Scarlet red, you know.

CAEL

No, I really don't care about her favorite color right now.

LUZY

But I don't know if I should talk about this, Eve might not like it.

CAEL

I asked her, she told me to ask you. Please, I know it must be a painful memory for you, but just for a moment, think it through.

LUZY

Mmmmh, alright, alright. Don't look at me like that, I hate it when everything is so serious.

CAEL

LUZY

Okay, so what do you want to know? Hit me with it.

CAEL

Well, the moment Eve told me about her death, I was quite shocked. I never knew that happened after all. However after I went home, I had some time to think things through. About her sister especially.

LUZY

What did you find out.

CAEL

Nothing much, I remember her short white hair, her fair skin. She was left handed and hated paprika, She talked in short sentences and wasn't interacting with anyone unless she had to. She was still an open person though.

LUZY

Isn't that already a lot? You have a good memory.

CAEL

No that's not everything. She had a mole on her left cheek, which moved when she smiled. She used tie her hair, when she started working and tap with her fingers when she got nervous. It had a rhythm to it, the song was - 'gasoline' by Halsey, she would also hum it later on too.

LUZY

Uhm, where you in love with her? You know a lot about her.

CAEL

It's not something so irrational. I only have a good memory, it's important to have one. But the most important part I haven't talked about. Her name.

LUZY

Oh-oh.

CAEL

Eve. Her name was Eve. Sound familiar?

LUZY

Well, what can I say.

CAEL

But that's still not everything.

LUZY

Oh come on.

CAEL

When I talked to Eve, the living one, I noticed something peculiar.

LUZY

Yeah, what was it?

CAEL

This is getting a bit complicated so when I talk about Eve, the one that is alive, I'll refer to her as Eve and for her sister, I'll just call her her sister okay?

LUZY

Uhh, wait, my head is spinning. Okay I think I got it.

CAEL

Well, when I talked to Eve, I noticed that she would change her expressions a lot, or maybe even her whole personality, for that matter, especially when we talked about her sister, her face changed the most. Which reminded me of why her sister never came to school.

LUZY

It was because she was sick, wasn't it. I heard, really tragic.

CAEL

Yes but it was the sickness that is more interesting don't you think?

LUZY

Really, you even remembered that?

CAEL

Yes, of course, my mind is a fortress where nothing can escape, you know.

LUZY

(sigh) Carry on talking, but I already know where you are going with this.

CAEL

His sister had a dissociative identity disorder, or more commonly know as split personalities, and even though it's subtle, so does Eve. I could tell.

LUZY

Now, your grand finale, what's your question, that you have been dying to ask?

CAEL

Yes, my question is, how come?

LUZY

How come, she adopted her sisters name? How come she shows signs of identity disorder? Or how come her sister died?

CAEL

All of them.

LUZY

Well, the first two are self explanatory i think, guilt. And denial. She probably thinks it's her fault that her sister died, but also doesn't want to believe she is truly dead. So Eve lives on for her. As her.

CAEL

But can you also answer the third?

LUZY

Yes, but first, what did Eve answer you?

CAEL

She said it was an accident.

LUZY

No, it wasn't.

CAEL

What wasn't?

LUCY

Her death.

CAEL

than what is the truth?

LUZY

The truth is, (beat) that I killed her.
