Chapter Seventy Six- Party Crasher

Adian's POV

My father wrapped tight firm arms around me,"I love you son, I always will" he buries his head in my shoulders, as I stood a good six inches taller than him.

It's been sixteen years since I willingly hugged my dad and now that he's in my embrace, I don't want to let go, nor do I want to breakdown in front of everyone present.

I reluctantly loosened my hold on dad, smiling at him, happy to have him this close to me.

Dad looked behind me and stretches out a hand. Before I could turn around I saw Chubbs run into his arm, before he embrace the both of us.

Chubbs wept in dad's embrace because this is the first time I've seen dad reach out for her and she's definitely overjoyed.

I look over to Hailey who stood smiling, looking on with tears in her eyes while my mother stared at our reunion in horror.

She leans and whispers something in Hailey's ears, before disappearing inside the building. Hailey moved as if to go after her, but was stopped when uncle and aunty pulled her into a hug while grinning at me, from ear to ear.

Everyone is happy that Hailey and I are together even with so many skeletons in our family's closet, we will make this work.

Dad left Chubbs, was was hugging me and walked across to hug his daughter-i n-law.

"Sweetheart, by this beautiful glow in your face, I know that my son is doing everything right" he told her as he hugs her.

"Thank you" Hailey tells my father as he hugs her back.

I looked in the direction that my mother went but I didn't see her. I contemplated following her, but Jerry stopped me, shaking his head.

I instead turned to hug my best friend, "Bas, thank you man. I don't know when you got to organize this, but thank you" I said, as he hugs be back.

"Do you guys need a room" Chubbs giggle beside us.

"You" was all I said, pulling her into my arms, my sister and my sister in-law.

Hailey stood chatting with Knox, who nods when our eyes met. I could swear I see a look of admiration in his eyes.

He finally walks up to me, "congratulations young Mr Knights" he shook my hand, slapping me on my shoulder, with the other.

"Thank you, I smiled, biting my tongue from asking the questions that are on the tip of my tongue.

Turning to look at my father, "you and your father, huh?" he observes.

"Me and my father," I agreed.

Chuckling, with his hand in his pocket, he looks around. "Nice turn out" he commented, before, "only one person missing" Knox, added, with a far off expression in his eyes.

I followed his linen of vision, "David Sullivan" I told him, as I walked off in the direction that he was staring. Hailey Sullivan Knights!

Mrs. Bradford, escorted us to the head table, that we were sharing with two other occupants.

I looked around and still didn't see my mom, but everyone was else were already sitting at their tables.

Bas walked in with Mel on his arms, as they gazed lovingly at each other.

He brought her over to Hailey and I.

"Hailey I would like to introduce you to my date, Melinda, Mel, this is the courageous young woman who have made my best friend, the happiest man on the planet. That is after me of course" he adds as Hailey stands to shake her, with everyone laughing.

"It's finally nice to meet the girl Basil ditches me for when the phone rings or with whom he's always playing games with" Hailey welcomes her warmly.

"I've heard a lot about you and anyone who takes on this guy here," she points me, "is a great woman, indeed" Mel tells Hailey.

I stood and pulled Mel in my arms, "it's good to see you" I tell her, "how have you been" I asked, as I pulled out a chair for her, before joining Hailey.

Bas joined us at the table, but he looked around, with a frown.

"Mom went inside" I told him and his frown disappeared.

Nodding, he stood up, buttoning his jacket, "excuse me" he says, to Hailey and kissed Mel on the cheek before walking into the building.

Mel and I did some catching up, while Hailey looked on laughing at the funny parts. With an arm around her shoulder, I leaned kissing her head.

Adjusting herself, I caught her lips in a deep kiss as laughter and applause erupted around us.

""Now isn't this sweet, I can almost feel a toothache coming on" the fine whiney voice that I used to adored greets us with.

"Yes, now that you're here with..." Mel responded, looking behind Kristin, "oh, you left my soon to be ex husband at home?" Mel observes, , as Gary is nowhere in sight and Hailey stiffens at my side.

Even though Bas already filled me in on Gary and my ex, I had to pretend,

"Gary and her?" I asked in disgust.

Chuckling sarcastically, "Yes, My soon to be ex husband and your ex fiancé have been f***ing long before Gary married. me" Mel says bluntly, as she searches for Bas.

Chuckling dryly, "so, other than trying to get my father to f**k her, she's been Gary's sidepiece?" I asked Mel as my ex stands fuming at me, before turning on Hailey.

Laughing humorously, "now I know a pathetic piece of trash like you is only with my fiancé for his money" she growls angrily.

As if Hailey was expecting that, she chuckles, stands up and palms my face. She leans down and give me the most sensual kiss leaving me totally aroused..

Sitting back down, with our hands entwined on my lap.

"I'm not the one crashing a dinner with the wives of a few of your exs present" Hailey started.
