Prologue (3)

"See you tomorrow," I said goodbye to my friend, unbuckling my seatbelt when the car was parked in front of my dorm.

"You really don't want to check your luck? This scholar is really accurate." Thi hasn't stopped persuading me.

"No. And if you say one more word, I'll curse Pan to hate your face." I raised my finger and pointed at his face. Thi is very sensitive to superstition and curses and its reaction was to look at me with green eyes.

"You bastard, hurry up and get out of my car before I kick you!"

I hurriedly opened the car's door and walked into the dormitory, watched as the silver Audi drove away, laughing lightly, satisfied that he was able to prank his friend back. (by cursing Ai Thi who believes so much in superstition)

Ai Thi is my best friend in the department. I'm not sure if it's because he is the first friend I met in college or is it because of his friendly nature that makes me quickly comfortable around him. Although my personality is short-tempered and impatient, we are able to maintain this friendship until the third year, and I hope to be friends with him for a long time.

I stopped to buy food and snacks in the convenience store under the dormitory before going to my room. I hummed a song while waiting for the elevator to go up to my apartment floor. The dormitory that I live in is the outer dormitory. The price is quite high but it's located near the university and the room is spacious. There are also many students living in this dormitory as well.

I am the only child and my family is willing to spend money to buy convenience, but I didn't fully rely on their money. I work as a model for a clothing store in IG, enough to be used as daily expense, helping to lighten the burden of my parents to some extent.

I ate dinner, took a shower, changed my clothes and do homework. The life of a third-year student is hard. After class, I have to sit back and do a report alone, and also study for quiz and exam. Sometimes on weekends there is a queue to shoot clothes again. I only have time for homework, reading books, and work until I hardly have time to travel or see my parents in other provinces.

My mobile phone vibrated, distracting me from translating the article on the screen. I saw the name on the screen and a wide smile immediately appeared. My mother is calling.

"What's up madam? Calling like this, are you missing your son?"

"Are you busy with your girlfriend or what? You don't even call your parents!" A groaning voice rang out along the line. My mother is a senior deputy of a district in Chachoengsao Province. She is a philanthropist who likes to go to temples to make merit and a very timid middle-aged woman. If I didn't call for a week, my mother would be very restless.
