CHAPTER 6: Face slapped

when kelly got to school to school the next morning she received weird stares from students of course she knew why. although she used some make up to cover it up it was still visible.then someone walked ip to her and asked.

"hi kelly, are you okay?. Peter asked but he got no reply.then he continued. "it fine if you do not want to tell me.well I'm gonna be straightforward. can we be friends."

kelly looked so surprised that she couldn't help asking. "why would you want to be friends with a weirdo". peter smiled sheepishly and said. "I don't see anything that's wierd about you.

"and what if I say no?". peter looked at her and replied I'll keep bugging you till you accept". she stared at him for a while before saying. "why do you ask if you're gonna do whatever you want". he shrugged it off and smiled.

kelly walked to class and he followed behind. all of of.their actions were seen by Joseph. he saw the mark on her face and wanted to approach her but peter beat him up to it and he felt angry for some reason.

maria noticed that some people were talking about her sister and she obviously knew why. she was so happy in her mind but she wasn't satisfied.so she decided to think hard about what she was going to do to irk her sister and ruin her reputation.

she finally got an idea about what she was going to do. and she smiled thinking about how badly this would affect her sister and boost her popularity.

few hours later

the bell rang and students were preparing to head back to class. they noticed that kelly was outside the class. and it came as a surprise to them .because this was the first she took the initiative to step out of class.

kelly was searching for her note. she was certain she brought it with her this morning. she was searching frantically. when she noticed someone approaching her and she realized what was going on. maria walked up to her sister panting.

"sister I hope you can forgive father, he got angry easily and he hit you. he thought you pushed me in purpose but I know it wasn't your fault". she said trying to play the good sister.

kelly gave her a cold glance and said coldly. " are you done". she said and walked away. she received questioning gaze from the students around but she ignored them. then maria tried to stop her again

"sister I know you blame me and mum for everything that happened but can't we put everything aside and move on we can be happy again". maria asked

kelly scoffed. her sister was really dumb she didn't realize her words could be used against her . "so this is how you wanna play it then let's play this game" .she thought. then she forced some tears out of her eyes.

"what do I blame you and your mother for. is it for being for being a mistress and mistress daughter. or for ruining my happy home and forcing my mother to her death and what do you mean by happy we were never happy and you know that.

maria realized how ambiguous her words were. she never told anyone that she and kelly were stepsister because she couldn't stand the shame of being a mistress daughter. she wanted to ruin her sister but dug a grave for herself.

the students were equally surprised they all knew that kelly and maria were sisters but they didn't think of it this way.some students started whispering amongst themselves.

come to think of it their birthdays are just three months apart I always thought it was weird.

Joseph who witnessed everything from th beginning had a smirk on his face, he knew from the start that maria was staging an act but he wanted to see how she would handle and he was not dissapointed.

kelly walked away from the scene after causing an uproar and Joseph equally left. this topic lasted for the whole week before it died down
