CHAPTER 09

Simdi lay on his bed but he was struggling to fall asleep. Something was keeping him from dozing off. Lily was on his mind, she made a great impression to him. He kept recalling her face, her jokes, her smiles and her laughter. She sounded so happy and positive no matter being disadvantaged. That kept him wondering how her mind worked. Why was she gleeful and positive?

When he thought of her jokes, he found himself smiling to himself. His fiancée was in the next room while he was here thinking about a crippled girl. He found himself muttering to himself.

"why are you on my mind? Please let me sleep." he said and closed his eyes, forcing sleep to take control of his body.

Amorita slept without worries. She had this confidence that nothing will ever happen to her relationship with Simdi. Since she became friends with him, she hasn't caught him cheating on her. He doesn't have the time. He was completely focused on her and their relationship.

Come to think of it, a cripple can't compete with her. After considering some of her advantages over the crippled girl, her heart began to dance and shake in confidence, she was on top.

Lily lay on her bed, relishing her interaction with Simdi. She was first surprised when a drink was offered to her. She thought it was one of the maids that were serving at the party. When she noticed it was a handsome guy that offered her a drink, her heart somersaulted several times.

The handsome guy said he noticed her first before coming to her. So he saw her crutches, he already knew that she was disabled and yet he came to be with her and he was oblivious of all other girls at the party and gave her his full attention until the end of the party.

She saw that he came with a girl and she might be his girlfriend. Her delight was he chose to be with her who was disadvantaged rather than some other girls that were healthy or complete.

Lily thanked the heavens for making Simdi to notice her. That was the closest a guy had come to her side. Others in other times and places might just say hi to her out of courtesy.

"I wish you could notice me again and speak to me. I enjoyed our chat." Lily muttered to herself.

She lay on her bed, wishing for sleep to come and take her but her heart was filled with joy.
