Chapter 2 Am I going too far?

Two hours later.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Cicely was lying on the bed, and her whole body was in so much pain that it felt like falling apart. Every time Field was extremely fierce, she couldn't help wondering that "Can't Bertha satisfy him?"

"Buzz." At this time, Field's cell phone on the bedside rang, and the ID was "Bertha". No sooner than Cicely's fingers touched the phone, a sharp voice came from behind.

"Who allowed you to touch my phone?"

Cicely turned around and saw Field wrapped in a bath towel. He came over wet and snatched the phone away.

"Bertha, what's wrong? ... I'll be right there."

Seeing Field hung up the phone, Cicely immediately changed her clothes. Thinking that she hadn't said anything yet, Cicely grabbed the hem of his clothes and asked, "Can you stay for a while?"

Field glanced at her. "What's wrong? Being not satisfied just now?"

"I..."

"That's all. Don't go too far!" Field said coldly.

Cicely was stunned, "I went too far?"

Cicely thought "I just want him to stay and tell him something about her. Did I go too far?"

"You know very well how this marriage came about! If it weren't for your dirty tricks, would I have married you?"

After saying that, Field threw her a bottle of contraceptives and said, "Eat it. You don't deserve to give birth to a child for me."

Then, Field turned around and left.

Looking at his back and then, at the contraceptives on the ground, Cicely felt as if her heart was torn apart.

You could lead a horse to water, but you couldn't make him drink. It was true.

Cicely loved Field for twelve years, and they married two years ago, but Field was still so cold to her.

It made sense. If it weren't for that they were caught red-handed by the media on that accidental night two years ago, and Old Mr. Keith asked Field to marry Cicely, Bertha would be Mrs. Keith now.

But Cicely was so stupid that she still believed that as long as they were married, she could use her passionate love to warm Field's cold heart.

In the end, she still ended up in such an unbearable situation.

Field really didn't love her. He only cared about Bertha.

Even if Cicely died, Field wouldn't shed a single tear for her. He might even celebrate with Bertha.

Thinking of this, Cicely suddenly felt that there was no need to tell him about her illness. If she told him, she would only humiliate herself.

She had better spend the last three months in peace.

Since that day, Cicely didn't see Field again. Her condition worsened. She coughed day and night. It was so serious that she couldn't fall asleep at night.

One day, when Cicely went to the hospital to get the medicine, she turned around and was pushed by someone. She staggered and the medicine bag fell off.

Cicely bent down to pick it up, but a slender and fair hand had already picked it up for her.

"Thank you." Cicely raised her head gratefully and was stunned. It was Bertha!

Bertha looked at the medicine list in the medicine bag. There were many professional terms that she didn't know. But she recognized two of them: painkillers and cancer medicine.

She thought of something and asked, "Cicely, are you ill? Is it serious?"

"It's none of your business. Give me back the medicine." Cicely reached out to get the medicine.

Bertha refused to give it to her and said with an aggrieved look, "Cicely, we've always been good friends. I've never blamed you for stealing brother Field. You don't have to be so wary of me."

Cicely thought, "Good friends?

Blaming me for stealing Field?

If it weren't for me, would you know Field?

Now that you occupied Field but I was his wife, okay?"
