Lilian

“Why is she so sad? One of the rat ask the other as they sat on top of the table staring at little Lilian Sandra’s daughter.

She has always been a happy little girl who plays with the mouse whenever they are at home, but today seems not to be a happy day for her.

“I don’t know, maybe we should ask her.” The second mouse said to the first.

“Lilian, why are you so sad today.?”

“Is because of my mother, she always cries and I  don’t know why?” she said with her tiny little voice,

“But why did she always cry?” The two mouse ask her sitting on her palms as she carries them about.

“I don’t know”

“But where is your father.?”

“What is that?” she ask amazed she hasn’t heard of that word before.

“You don’t know what a father is?”

“Yes, can you tell me please?”

“Okay, I will tell her,” the fat mouse said relaxing on her palm and crossing its legs, it starts.

“A father is a male parent, everyone has two parents, a male, and a female parent but you have only the female parent which is just your mother but where is your father?”

The other mouse shakes its head and covers its face with its tiny hands.

“Why are you confusing the little girl?” it asks, seeing how Lilian looks confused at the mouse as it explains to her.

“I’m not confused, I’m only wondering where my male parent is.”

“Yeah, and that’s why you should ask your mother.”

“Yeah, I’m going to ask her right away, she said with so much excitement as she drop the two mouse and they landed on the floor with their back.

“Ochs, my back!” the rats yells as they landed on their back.

“She didn’t have to drop us on the floor like that” the fat mouse complain.

“You don’t have to blame her, she’s so excited to find out about her father.”

“Yeah, your right, let’s hope for the better.”

They hurried along with her to find out who Lilian's father is.

“Hey. Mum”

“Lilian, how are you?, where have you been?”

“I was inside,” she said pointing to the little room filled with books.

"I told you not to go to that room again, didn’t  I? The owners of this house don’t want you ruining their books!” Sandra told Lilian not because she didn’t want her to go there but because Lilian always act strange whenever she is in that room.

Sandra always finds her talking and demonstrating whenever she goes to that room. She knows that she’s talking to someone but who?

“I’m sorry mum,” she roll her puppy eyes at her mother and Sandra forgave her.

“Mummy where is my father?”

“What?” Sandra was shocked by that question, Lillian has never bothered about her father before and Sandra thought she was so lucky that the kid is not disturbing her about that, but why now?

“Why do you ask?” Sandra stopped everything she was doing to pay attention to her little girl who started talking properly, just two weeks ago.
