Kate became more irritated when she received nothing but silence from Felix who should be somewhere inside the house, purely shrouded in rage, Kate stomped in, searching every single place within the house, looking for Felix so he could tear him to shreds.
She searched everywhere before returning to the living room, still fuming, her face was covered in a thick shade of red as imaginary smoke poured out of her ears.
Sophie found this unusual, how could she not find Felix after searching for so long, could there be some underground passage or hidden room under the house? Sophie quickly dispersed the stupid thoughts of hers, if Felix wasn't in the house, it could only mean one thing.
Unable to bring herself to accept her conclusion, Sophie ran inside also, dashing straight to their room, she pushed the door open with so much force that she fell forward after the door jerked open, unwilling to withstand the impact of her bruteness.
Sophie felt pain as her body crashed to the hard floor, still, she didn't pay much attention to her aching bones and hastily stood up, scanning the room with her eyes, all her belongings were still there, her traveling case, books, teddy bears and everything she had ever owned, both the ones gifted to her but that wasn't her problem.
His things, his clothes, work equipment, the laptop that never left the table, everything, everything about him was gone, not even his cable was left, their picture frame, it was gone also.
Sophie instantly broke down, she was hurt, her heart had finally received the blow she had run away from, he really left, he didn't really want her anymore.
Intense feelings of unwillingness, bitterness, and dejection, all those emotions attacked her heart in unison, they had found a quest and had completed it.
Destroy Sophie's heart!!
Sophie fell to her knees and wept bitterly, she cried not for the fact that he left, of course, that was part of it, but the main reason for these tears were the moments they shared together, the happy moments, the tough moments, the passionate moments, the fact that she grew attached to him, she loved him too much that she felt like this was the end of the world for her, it was finally over for her.
Wait!!
The other room!
Maybe he's hiding there.
Because of the crazed sense of sorrow, even the craziest possible thought became reasonable and acceptable.
Sophie immediately got up from the ground and ran outside the bedroom, reaching the other room in a matter of seconds, it was pretty close by anyways.
This room had been empty since they moved in together, they had earlier planned on using both but Sophie didn't accept the idea and wanted to sleep in the same room with Felix, she wanted to fall asleep in his arms and wake up In his arms also.
She wanted the last thing she saw before going to sleep to be his handsome face and the first thing she would see when she woke up would also be his gorgeous sleeping face.
She wanted the last thing she would hear before falling asleep to be his loving good night and the first thing she heard to be his soothing good morning.
To go to bed with a goodnight kiss and to wake up to his good morning kiss also, she just wanted to be around him, though they never...
Bang!
Kicking the door open, Sophie rushed inside but was welcomed by the emptiness of the room, like an isolated cave, the room had literally nothing, except a single bed and empty wardrobe.
Sophie broke down again, the same emotions once again went to battle against her heart, she couldn't take this, it was too much for her.
Was she being selfish when she requested to be loved forever? Why were the heavens targeting her? She wanted to run away if only she could, she wanted to wake up, only that it wasn't a dream, she wanted to quit, only if it had been a game.
This was her reality, she couldn't do anything about it other than to accept the brutal after-effect of love, the pains that accompanied being pushed away by the person you gave the bigger part of your heart to.
Lost for how long she had been crying, Sophie thought of her mom, she suddenly became her idol, she couldn't do what her mom had done back then, not even half of it, she just couldn't fake being ok.
Kate walked in at this moment and gazed upon her crying friend, Kate felt her heart being squeezed and stabbed, so painful, watching Sophie suffer was something she would never allow, she just couldn't bare her little sister to die slowly of depression because of some stupid man.
She walked to Sophie, knelt beside her, and pulled her into a tight embrace, resting the crying Sophie's head on her huge twin peaks.
They stayed in that position for some minutes, Kate just held onto Sophie as the latter cried to her heart's content before finally stopping, it seemed like she cried her tears spring dry.
Sophie raised from Kate's embrace and stared at her, her eyes were still red and slightly swollen, and her face was covered in the bright liquid that would make any man seek justice for her.
"Am-am i.... am I bad?" Sophie said weakly as she clenched her chest, trying to pull the heavy feeling that deprived her of breathing out.
Kate shook her head vigorously, she placed her finger on Sophie's lips, signaling her to keep quiet "Ssshhh, don't say that, you are perfect, there's nothing to complain about you, you are the best there is and ever to be" Kate said with deep sincerity in her voice.
Sophie felt greatly moved in her heart but the feeling of depression quickly killed that happy feeling.
"Di-did I d-do wrong as a g-girlfriend?" Sophie said again, her voice like she would pass out at any time.
"No, you didn't, I am sure of it, you are always the best" Kate coaxed her immediately, rubbing the side of her face.
" Then why, why...did he leave me?" Sophie burst out all of a sudden.
Kate coursed in her heart, oh no, her tears spring regrew!!
"I want to get drunk"
"Huh?" Kate was taken by surprise by Sophie's sudden request.
"I said I want to get drunk, will you help me?"
"???" Kate was completely rendered speechless.
