Chapter 15:- Haldi ceremony of Meera.

In the kitchen, she drinks the juice and this time my mother give her juice and when she gets to know that what happened before she doesn't have any shocks expression on her face and she told only that "Thanks to God you didn't spoil Aarav's clothes because if you do that what will he wear" I was like what?? My own mother has to worry about his clothes more than mine. So I get irritated and told that " Mummy you're worrying about him instead of me and this time my clothes get spoiled not his and he needs to look around also because if he was careful this won't happen" and mummy told me that " Oh dear it's not new for me that your dress gets spoiled because of many things and you looks beautiful in Meera's clothes now and it's perfect feet on you. "

I'm not in the mood to argue with my mother anymore so I completely shut my mouth and my mother exited the kitchen. She told Meera to hurry up because the first ceremony is about to start.

Meera finishes her juice and we both go outside the house where the 'Haldi Ceremony' is gonna start.

There's one seating place made for Meera's seating. She sat there and Ceremony gets started.

I stand near her and then one by one a relative starts applying Haldi ( turmeric) on Meera's face, hands, and legs.

Then my turn came. I applied Haldi on her face and legs and then went back where I was standing before. Then they call Meera's brothers and her father and uncle for the ceremony.

First, her father hugs her and applies Haldi on her face and Meera starts crying and I just hold her hand and try to calm her down seeing her crying. I also start crying. Her father is also crying and then his father wipes tears from his eyes and also from Meera's face and leave from there and then her all brothers apply Haldi on her face and she controls her tears and tries to give the best smile that she could give and seeing her trying for the smile I also stop crying.

Aarav is also here and I try my best to avoid eye contact with him but I notice him when he doesn't notice me.

Photographer captured the moments of Ceremony and Ceremony got over when everyone finished with applying Haldi on Meera.

After the ceremony, Meera goes to the bathroom to take a bath and I go to change my clothes for today's main function ' The Wedding function'.

I dressed up in green colour and Yellow colour silk lehenga choli with light pink colour banarasi dupatta.

I set my dupatta in the latest Gujarati style and put little makeup on my face and apply lipstick. I let my hair open and do a simple hairstyle. I complete my look and I wear my Mojadi and go directly to Meera's room.

Meera is looking beautiful in pink colour lehenga and choli she is seating on the chair and a female from the beauty parlour doing her makeup and another one is doing her hairstyle.

When she sees me her smile tells me how happy she is to see me and I give her a smile. I took a seat near her and started talking random stuff to her and also to the women from the beauty parlour.

After an hour I go outside the room and ask my mother that how much time it takes Barat ( Jaan - Gujarati word for Barat) to reach here and she answered me that they are on their way and it'll take an hour to reach them to here after hearing this I go inside the room and take the same place and told them what my mother said me earlier.

Meera's makeup and hairstyle are complete and they are now setting a pink colour dupatta on her head and another contrast colour dupatta set in Gujarati style.

I told her that " Oh dear you're looking gorgeous"

She told me that " Thanks dear and you're also looking beautiful in this look"

After that, we went outside the room where the photographer was waiting for us in another room. Aarav was already there. First I was surprised that why is he here? Then I remember that his promise to Meera that he will click the picture with her.

So I let them first finish their shots of photographs and I noticed that he looks more handsome when he smiles and suddenly I remember Meera's words that I have to stay away from him. So I try to avoid looking at him. His photo click gets finished and then he leaves the room without turning back and I feel relieved. After that photographer clicked a few pictures of Meera and mine and then lots of Meera's photos were clicked by him.

And the news came that Barat is in the village and Meera's face has a bright smile.

All people from the house go for receiving the guests from the Barat and especially to welcome the groom except Me, Meera, and elder women in the house.

It took more than an hour to finish their lunch and then they all came back dancing on the beat of the music with the groom and guests from the groom's side and everyone took their seats outside the house where chairs were placed. I and Meera are in the house and we both are looking from the window to outside.

Groom takes his place under the wedding mandap where two chairs are placed and one Pandit Ji is already seated. One of his friends or brother is with the groom to take care of him. Meera's parents are also under the Wedding Mandap and follow the instructions given by Pandit Ji. Pandit Ji is busy chanting Mantra of the wedding.

Then relative women come and tell us that it's time for Meera to go to the Wedding Mandap. So I and Meera both went outside the room and we did that special entry of Meera which was decided earlier by us.
