Chapter 37 Being A Private Doctor
When she arrived at the hospital, she received an order from Audie to go to the Dean's office.
Mr. Acendano hopes that you can be his private doctor, and go to his house twice a week to check up on him," Tyler said calmly with an amiable smile as he relaxed on the sofa.
After work, Eliz headed straight to St.Louis High School where Echille studied.
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was from an unknown number.
"Hello, is this Miss Navarro?" a gentle female voice asked. Her heart instantly expected bad news.
"Yes, I am," Eliz replied, praying that her dear ones were safe.
"I am very sorry but I hit your cousin by accident while I was driving. Now I'm at No. 1 Hospital. Can you come here quickly? And please don't panic. She's not seriously injured, just a small bruise. The doctor said she would be fine after resting for a few days," the woman said in a sincere tone.
"Okay, I'll be right there." Wanting to get there faster, Eliz honked the horn.
When she arrived, she saw Echille sitting on the bed while the doctor was treating her injury.
"Echille?" Eliz cried out.
"It's all my fault. I bumped into her by accident. Luckily, she is fine. Don't worry. I'll be responsible for the medical expenses," Ferlyn said, diverting Eliz's attention.
Only then did Eliz notice Ferlyn's presence. She was wearing a light pink wind breaker and had light makeup applied. However, she couldn't help emitting a noble aura. 'She must be from a wealthy family, ' Eliz concluded.
'She is also quite well-behaved and polite, ' Eliz thought while assessing Ferlyn.
"Don't worry. Nothing serious happened. Thank you for taking Echille to the hospital," Eliz responded with a smile.
"That's my responsibility. By the way, my name is Ferlyn Aleotti. What's your name?"
"I'm Eliz Navarro."
"Nice to meet you. This is my phone number. By the way, you can add me on WeChat as well," Ferly said enthusiastically. She just took a day off today and was on her way back home.
"Okay." Eliz took out her phone and added Ferlyn to her WeChat.
After that, Eliz decided to take Echille home while her sister started chatting endlessly about what had happened.
As the door swung open, Elizabeth was seen walking towards them with a plate of fruits in her hands. At one glance, she placed the plate on the table and rushed over to Echille, taking a look at the bandage. "Echille," she exclaimed. "What happened to your foot?"
"Aunty, I'm fine. It was accidentally scraped by a car. Sis had accompanied me to see a doctor, and we just came back from the hospital. No need to worry!" Echille beamed, hopping to the living room.
"Sit down, sit down. Dinner will be ready soon." Elizabeth helped Echille sit on the sofa. As Echille was about to sit next to her, she was stopped by a cold sneer.
"How dare you come back here?"
As Eliz said that, it felt as if the temperature in their house dropped to zero. Echille gaped at the two, eyes wide in shock.
'What happened?'
"Mom..." Eliz wanted to say something but no words came out of her. Besides, it wasn't as if she could explain her situation now. Her life of living with Pierce was coming to an end anyway–just ten more days. Ten more days of hell and she'd finally be able to tell her mother what was going on.
"Get the hell out of here! You're not welcome in this household!" Elizabeth lashed out. Her daughter had kept a secret, that was all that she knew. She had called Eliz to join the Campari Group last time, so she had were connected. Her daughter was lying to her; she must've done something shameful to the family.
"Mom, why don't you trust me? What did I do?" Eliz protested.
"Stop playing innocent. You know what you've done. Get out of here now!" Elizabeth didn't want to say anything more to Eliz. Since she couldn't find out anything, she was getting more and more suspicious about Eliz.
"Mom, don't be like this, okay? I didn't do anything." Eliz gritted her teeth and stared at her mom. She didn't know what to do.
"Really? You did nothing at all? Then why don't you move back home? Let me tell you something. Your sister lives here, too. I don't want to mislead Echille, so I won't say anything in front of her. Now it's up to you if you want to save your reputation."
Eliz felt wronged and disappointed. Since she had made up her mind to be with Pierce, she knew there would be some backlash. But what she didn't expect was that the first person to criticize her would be her mother.
"Mom, I'm sorry, I can't move back home so soon. I haven't finished my work at the hospital. I'll come to see you again another day," Eliz said helplessly.
Glaring at her, Elizabeth pointed at Eliz. "You're out of your mind."
Feeling hurt, Eliz bowed before she left without looking back. If her own mother couldn't find it in her heart to try and understand her, who else could?

Fred took a deep breath. "Mr. Aleotti, I found some information about Rico. He goes by the full name of Rico Morelli. He was a childhood friend of Miss Navarro's. Now, he's a math teacher in Milan St.Louis, and Miss Navarro's cousin, Echille , is his student."
"What?" Pierce's face darkened as if a fire inside him was finally ignited.
She had lied to him! All for the sake of Rico! And he hated the thought of it. He remembered how the man had appeared in her dream, and how Eliz had called for Rico's help. At the thought, he shook his head in disgust, finding it as ludicrous as it sounded.
"Mr. Aleotti… According to my investigation, Miss Navarro isn't very close to Rico. They only started contacting each other because of Echille and the forum," Fred explained quickly when he caught sight of the dark look hovering over Pierce's expression.
Acendano's Residence
Eliz arrived at a very luxurious yet ancient castle. Eliz mused in her mind, 'Jamon's life is so exorbitant.' She was awestruck with the glamour of the castle and kept on wondering about how luxurious the rooms in the castle were.
"Greetings, Mr. Acendano. It's me, Eliz," Eliz knocked on the door calmly and called to him.
After a series of examinations, Eliz finally exhaled a sigh of relief. "Mr. Acendano, I can see you have been taking good care of yourself recently. Your wound has recovered well, and your heart rate is also in the normal range. So please continue taking good care of yourself, and you will be all healed in no time." Eliz had always liked a patient who followed her advice earnestly.
Eliz smiled back and replied, "Mr. Acendano, I have to go now. I have something to deal with at the hospital. Take care!" Eliz packed up her things hurriedly and was all set to leave. Indeed, she had a lot of things to do in the hospital. It was estimated that she might have to work overtime in the hospital this night to finish these affairs.
At No.520 Haibin Road
Eliz had always remained faithful to Pierce, having no thoughts of being with any other man. If she wanted to participate in any affairs, then she could've seduced Rico earlier in their lives.
"Investigate? You're not worth being investigated!" Pierce bellowed. The look in his eyes was becoming deadlier.
"Do you think I'm that kind of woman? That I'll seduce any man I meet?" she snapped, having had enough of his tantrums. She laughed at the ridiculousness of it all.
The tears were already rolling down her cheeks. If this was what he thought of her...she couldn't believe he'd hate her that much!
"Yes! From the bottom of my heart, you're a hussy, a slut! Any man could've had sex with you if they wanted to!" He let go of Eliz, making her stumble back. "Dirty!" he spat.
At his words, her blood started to boil. 'Dirty?' She was dirty? If she were, then it would be his fault alone!
Without another thought, she raised her hand and slapped him right through the face.
Pierce clasped his cheek, eyes widening in shock. He didn't expect Eliz to hit him. He had never been slapped since his childhood!
"You know, I never beat a woman...but now." Pierce pulled her wrist, baring his teeth. "You're making me reconsider. If you ever hit me again, I'll make your life a living hell!"
"Pierce, we're enemies even in our previous lives. If I knew things would be like this, then I would've still been with Mavi! Better to be with him than to be insulted by you like this! You always looked down on me as if you're at the top of the world. Since you hate me so much, just let me get out already!" Eliz roared. She had enough of his crap.
"What else can you do besides threaten me, my family, and anybody?" Eliz cried out.
"Let me show you tonight how despicable I am, how much of an asshole I can be. You said you wanted to be with Mavi instead of me, then so be it!" Pierce grinned viciously.
