Chapter 66- Ready To Go

The following morning…

Delilah stepped out of the bath, despite having a blissful sleep, she really didn't want to be late to school today, even if the meeting was scheduled 10, she would rather not take any chances being late.

Sitting on a beanbag in white bathrobes, with her hair wet, she browsed through the phone, catching up on the latest entertainment news. She also browsed through the post about her on the school platform, there wasn't much of the updates to catch up to.

Having done that, she called Anna; the girls discussed nothing but girly stuff, the time they'll arrive at the school, both girls filled with anticipation and excitement.

Delilah went down for breakfast after getting dressed, "Morning grandma, morning dad "she greeted, taking her seat.

" Morning Lila"

" Mm"

Chen Xiao and Old madam Chen responded.

Chen Xiao had a smug smile as he asked "Are you ready?"

With a smile brighter than the sun, Delilah answered," Yes dad, I've packed my box, and I am more than ready to go"

Chen Xiao nodded with a satisfied "Good"

It was time for her to leave, Old madam Chen followed with her cane, "Have fun and stay away from trouble" she said, her face straight like she was just commenting on the weather.

Delilah smiled, "I will, grandma so don't miss me too much", as she got into the low-key car. They had to keep her identity secret, so buying a low-key car won the argument over taking the taxi.

The drive to school was tense, Chen Xiao kept asking if she really wanted to go, he even scolded her for not telling him about it until it was already too late, he asked when and how she got his signature for the parent signature form.

Of course, Delilah wouldn't tell him she filled the form herself, and forged his signature.

She also didn't want to go for the national defence training but having heard so much about it, she decided to go, she was lucky to still have the chance to register before it was too late.

They soon arrive at the school gate, Chen Xiao and Delilah alighted the car, he carried her box out of the trunk of the car.

Facing her, he asked again, "Are you sure you want to go? You know how fragile your health is?" his features filled with worry.

Delilah lowered her eyes, "Yes dad, I promise to take care of myself, I am not a child any more, and I'll only be gone for a week…" she said with a pout.

Chen Xiao smiled and ruffled her hair out of habit, he drew her into his embrace, "I know, but I don't want my Lila to grow up yet, I still want her to be my little Lila for a while" he mumbled in her hair.

Delilah smiled and rubbed her head against his chest.

" I have to go now, dad" she said some moments later and Chen Xiao released the hug.
