Chapter 26- Did You Just Say My House Is Boring?

" Dad, can I take Rigby home with me?"

" No way!", Old madam Chen rejected the request, even if she wasn't the one being questioned.

" Grandma, but why?" Delilah pouted.

" I don't want that filthy thing in my house", Old madam Chen replied immediately.

"Grandma, Rigby is not filthy, besides, home is boring…", Delilah grumbled.

The knitting pin in Old madam Chen hands froze, she slowly turned her head towards Delilah, her eyes blazed.

"Did you just say my house is… boring", there was a tone of anger in her voice.

"Uhm…. Yes…." Delilah nodded like a chicken picking grains.

"Oh, really…. It seems you want to live on campus, right?" Old madam Chen's face turned hostile.

"Mother….", Chen Xiao was helpless, he couldn't laugh though he really wanted to.

Delilah gave Old madam Chen's words a quick thought; if she lives in the school's hostel, it would be great, she wouldn't have to walk home anymore, but that means grandma will be alone, Delilah doesn't want that, she exhaled deeply.

Chen Xiao smiled as he could guess Delilah's thoughts, and he could be sure of her final decision.

"I would rather not live on campus grandma", she sighed.

"Good", Old madam Chen nodded, her hostile expression returned to its normal stern and graceful expression.

"Shall we get going now", Chen Xiao chuckled and rubbed Delilah's head as he leaned close to her ears, "Don't worry, Rigby will follow you back, hm!", he whispered in her ears.

Delilah's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, she nodded excitedly and hugged Rigby tightly.

Soon, the trio exited the house and walked towards the vehicle, they sat in the back seat including the dog while housekeeper Tang Yu and the driver sat in the front seats.

Throughout the trip, Delilah stared at the box on her thighs lost in thoughts while her father held a meeting with the company's shareholders and Old madam Chen was asleep.

...

They arrived earlier from the journey the previous day, Delilah was exhausted mentally and emotionally that she went to bed immediately.

It was too bad her father had an important meeting to catch up to, which meant, he left with Rigby the moment they arrived.
