42 Gabriel and Edward Chat

"Oh, that would be absolutely amazing!" Amelia smiled happily and followed behind Miyuki carefully.

Miyuki opened the door to the bedroom, found the sandals for outdoors and placed them on the ground. She grabbed a blanket and held it over their arm. "I need to grab my sandals. So please excuse me a moment." She bowed and went to collect her sandals.

Amelia changed into her sandals and left the inside ones just inside the bedroom and walked over to the cherry tree. She sat underneath the tree on one of the roots that had poked up from the earth. She held out her hand and then pulled out the medicine bag she had been carrying around. 'Gabriel, I am praying for your safety.'

Gabriel and Edward were still in the carriage riding along. Gabriel smiled and pulled out the list. "This top root is the one that is the top priority. It is going to take the longest to find but I know that between the two of us we will be able to find it quickly. We both want to save the same person." Gabriel turns the page of the book and shows that plant to Edward. "Do you think you will be able to help find it?"

"I am not sure but I will do my best. This is my first-time herb and root hunting. I fear I may slow you down but if you point out something and teach me how to harvest it. You bet I will do the best that I can do. I am a quick learner. Do you think that the ladies are okay?" Edward glanced out the window.

"I get the feeling that they went to my place. I just hope that they do not enter my resting quarters. I would hate for my secret to get out." Gabriel covered his eyes. "I paint on the side. I was working on a piece of art in secret. It is something that my family does not know about. There is a maid that knows about it so if she goes in she will hide it for me."

"Painting, that is a wonderful pass time but not a normal one by any means. I think I get why you are worried. Just what were you painting in your room?" Edward's interest was piqued.

"Please do not get mad, but I was painting a picture of Amelia. When I saw her under the cherry blossoms it was like inspiration hit me. I started that painting in hopes that I could show her how she looks in my eyes." Gabriel covers his face in embarrassment.

"Do not worry about it. I am sure that the maid will find it and move it for you. I will not get mad at you for it. Even though it was before you got engaged. I can tell how much you care about her. Tell me, Gabriel, what would happen if you lost her?" Edward looked outside.

"That is not something that I will allow to happen. I will do everything in my power to keep that from happening but if it did happen, I do not know what I would do. It is not something I will think about it until the time actually comes. For now I will worry about creating the medicine and finding a cure." Gabriel smacks his cheeks to get the dark thought out of his mind.

"Sorry for that question, I just wanted to see what you would say. Most people would say move on but you are the first that has said that you would fight to save her. I am glad that you are her beloved." Edward patted Gabriel on the head.

"You have asked others?" Gabriel looked frightened.

"As a hypothetical question. No one knows that Amelia has this condition but those that are close to her. Her two friends help watch her in the school along with Amaritsu Sensei. Yoko is lucky that she got her license when she did and I am grateful that she decided that she would help us out." Edward looks out the window. "Yoko is my wife's older sister."

Gabriel stopped for a moment. "Really? I did not know that but that explains why she knows what is going on and allows Amelia to go to the infirmary a lot." He nods his head, "I will trust those that you have trusted. I am some "god" in the school. It is weird the way they treat me. Being a top student is odd."

"I bet it is. I went to medical school for a bit but I never was able to complete it. So I know some things but I do not know everything. I am glad that you are taking so much time to show me everything. Amelia is studying medicine so that she would be able to make the medicine herself so that she could keep the costs lower for us. I was surprised when she told me this." Edward shook his head and sighed.

"Oh, so you have a basic background that is nice! Is that why the gift shop got busy? Amelia is such an amazing girl. I am glad that in the end, I am the one that gets to love her for the rest of my life. I know that I will be able to trust her if I have to work long hours and I know that she will be home waiting for me." Gabriel blushes a little as he thinks about her living with him in the future.

"I have a way to draw people in so when they see me they tend to buy what I recommend. If there is something that you need sold I will do my best to make sure to sell it out. The Yukimura hospital will see a decrease in sales now that I am gone but that's none of my concern. Bastards tried to pressure Amelia into marrying their son. I do not care for such underhanded tricks." Edward got worked up and clenched his hand in a fist, "but I got a wonderful son in law out of this. Thank you for being so amazingly humble, Gabriel. I know what it is like to come home after a long day of work and you see your wife sitting there in the kitchen waiting for you. You will experience that as well."
