The fat man who had his eyes on her didn't approach her but he had something else in mind.

Ji Xuiran chuckled when he realized that Yun Xinxi turned her eyes away from him.

"What? Did you just laugh?", Ji Guanli was more than shocked when he briefly saw that expression on Ji Xuiran's face.

He had to admit that he had never saw Ji Xuiran laugh ever since he had met him.

Ji Xuiran always kept on his usual poker face and cold personality which always made it difficult for others to approach him.

Ji Xuiran ignored Ji Guanli's countless questions and took a sip of the red liquid in the glass.

One might think it was wine but it was actually blood.

Ji Xuiran was a vampire and he only fed on blood and nothing else.

He had never touched any sort of human food or beverage ever since his existence.

Yun Xinxi took a look at the time and realized that it was almost midnight, she stood up and walked out.

Home was just a few minutes walk and she was soon standing in front of the Yun family house.

The security men pushed open the gate and she entered.

The whole family was still awake and the most worried person was her mother, Lee Xi.

"Oh dear!", Lee Xi immediately rushed towards Yun Xinxi and embraced her. She had been so worried that something would happen to her daughter who had finally and just returned home.

Yun Xinxi stood still and emotionless as her mother embraced her.

Yun Zhang frowned when he noticed her reaction, their mother had been so worried about her yet she didn't seem to care.

"Where were you?", Lee Zifeng asked in a loud voice. He couldn't believe that this country girl who just arrived today had gone out and returned so late.

"Sis where were you? Everyone was worried sick", Yun Shinzi sighed helplessly.

Yun Xinxi was a very smart person and could tell that Yun Shinzi didn't like her right from the start. Why was Yun Shinzi pretending to care about her?

"Xixi, where were you?", Yun Jinzi approached the mother daughter duo and asked in a calm voice.

Yun Xinxi stared at everyone's faces before she finally opened her mouth to speak.

"I went out to take fresh air", said Yun Xinxi.

Lee Xi believed her daughter and she didn't want anyone else to disturb her daughter so she escorted her to her room.

"You must be exhausted, go wash up then rest. We'll talk tomorrow", said Lee Xi. She then turned around to leave.

Yun Xinxi marched towards her closet and took out a morning coat and nightwear.

"Xixi...", Lee Xi paused in her footsteps and turned around.

Yun Xinxi who was about to enter the bathroom also paused in her footsteps and waited for her to continue her sentence.

"When... when are you going to call me mother?", Tears brimmed at the corners of Lee Xi's eyes. Ever since they met, Yun Xinxi had never once called her mother.

"Mother? You don't deserve that", Yun Xinxi's voice was filled with sarcasm. She ignored her mother and entered the bathroom.

Lee Xi stood still in the same position as tears flowed down her cheeks, after a few minutes, she wiped them and walked out.

Ji Xuiran returned to his apartment and stood on the balcony smoking.

He wore black turtleneck sweater and black pants.

Ji Xuiran was an epitome of beauty and charm even as he just stood there.

Around his neck hung a chain which Ji Xuiran had never taken off from his neck.

He didn't remember how or when he had acquired that necklace but his instincts told him that it was very important and that he should never lose it.
