"Sit still, Lady Ylva, I need to finish your hair first." The maid tells the teenager with a smile.

"Then please hurry, Eira." Ylva can't hide her excitement. "I want to welcome father outside."

"He has been gone for a long time, hasn't he?" Eira comments as she curls another lock of the young lady's hair. Ylva nods in agreement.

"He has never been away for this long." She says. "I can't wait to show him my grades."

"I am sure he will be proud of you, my lady."

"Father is very strict, but I have a surprise for him." Ylva beams.

"Is that so?"

"Yes, I have been studying economics with Lord Haugen." She explains. "It is quite hard but my tutor said that I am making great progress."

"Why would you want to learn such a thing, Lady Ylva?" The maid frowns.

"Because I am the only child of House Ronning, I ought to have good knowledge of everything related to managing the estate and the family business."
