Chapter Three
Caitlin moved to Allensouth with Grace. That was where she had lived, before coming to Middleton for an important surgery operation.
She also fulfilled her promise to Caitlin, she got her a nice apartment in a beautiful estate and assured her of a job after she had given birth. She was so happy and couldn't stop thanking her for her kindness. It turned out that Grace was a very wealthy obstetrician and she was very famous in Allensouth, so money was the least of her problems. Caitlin couldn't believe how well things turned out for her. The pregnancy wasn't easy on her the first few months and she always fell ill and suffered several emotional issues.
Grace always kept her company and tried to make her happy. For some unknown reason, she had taken a great liking to Caitlin. She was a strong young girl who had survived several misfortunes and her determination to survive made her love her even more.
Caitlin loved her new home. It was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Grace always gave her lots of money to care for herself whenever she came to visit and Caitlin often felt guilty because she was so kind to her but she couldn't offer anything to repay in return.
Several months passed, and her belly grew bigger and bigger, then the day of delivery finally arrived. Grace suggested a natural birth through water delivery. She prepared a special birthing pool for her when the contractions were stronger. The pain was unbearable. When the time was due, she helped her into the pool after she undressed. Caitlin pushed on her order.
The pain was truly mind blowing. She cried in pain as she felt the baby coming out of her. She thought she would rip apart. Grasping the edge of the pool tightly, she pushed with all her might. The birthing was very slow and incredibly painful but at last, the baby was out! Its soft cries filled the room and Caitlin was in so much pain and felt really exhausted that she fainted.
Few minutes later, she woke up to find herself on the bed. Grace had cleaned her and the baby up. Caitlin looked very pale and weak and she was still shaking from the pain.
"Look… It's your baby boy. Isn't he just beautiful?" she said in a soft tone as she gently handed the child to her.
Caitlin carried her baby boy in her arms and stared at him as tears welled up in her eyes. She held the baby to her bosom and cried out loudly. Grace couldn't contain her own tears. She quickly wiped her eyes and smiled. The baby was indeed a beautiful sight. He was perfect in every way, so beautiful and flawless.
Caitlin sobbed and it warmed Grace's heart. It was tears of joy. She was happy now more than ever to have such a beautiful experience and she was thankful that she hadn't taken the life of her only happiness, her baby. She kissed his little cheeks and held him, still sobbing silently.
She nursed the newborn as Grace guided her on what to do. Caitlin was so happy. She wouldn't be lonely anymore. She had her beautiful baby with her now and her joy knew no bounds. The pain of prolonged labor and childbirth had been long forgotten.
No doubt, the child looked exactly like his father, the man who had abused her and gotten her pregnant.
Grace bought so many baby products for the child, like she was buying for her own and Caitlin couldn't hide her happiness. She always treated her as her own daughter, even though she was a complete stranger. She could not thank her enough for the help she rendered and she was more than happy to be of assistance to Caitlin.
"Thank you so much for all your help ma'am. You've been really kind to me. God bless you. I can't tell you how happy I am. You've done so much for me and my baby." she said softly with teary eyes and Grace smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"You don't have to thank me, my dear. I'm more than happy to help a beautiful and brave girl like you. You've been through a lot and you deserve to be happy again. Ever since I've known you, you've been like a daughter to me, and I will always help a daughter of mine."
Caitlin beamed a smile and the two hugged. During the times when she did nothing but cared for herself and her baby, she became so much more beautiful and her body glowed with health.
She looked plump and so beautiful that people would always turn twice to look at her. Her baby boy was also the cutest thing around the neighborhood. Everyone wanted to touch and kiss this little angel. Most curious people always asked who his father was, but the sad frown from Caitlin would make them take back their curiosity.
She hated when people asked about his father so she didn't like to go out often. She preferred to stay home and play with her darling son. After a while, she finally got a name for him.
"His name is Sultan." she told Grace when she came to visit.
"Sultan! Wow what a beautiful and powerful choice. I love that name so much dear!" she squealed and Caitlin smiled. She had chosen the name because her baby would rule his world and wouldn't go through the hell she went through. She would make sure he had a luxurious and beautiful life, something she never had growing up. He had really given her a ray of hope.
Caitlin raised Sultan with Grace's help. She gave him the best life as she had promised and made sure he got the best clothes and toys. Grace was happy to spend her money on the little boy and his mother and they were glowing so beautifully. Caitlin was becoming more and more beautiful and so many men showed interest in her, but she had lost all feelings of love towards men after the unfortunate event. Now, she only wanted to focus on raising her baby to be the best he can be.
Just like that, two years had passed…
