Chapter 66

'Everyone's outside Mister Malfoy.' Snape said.

Draco looked up at Snape, but didn't stop pacing around the room.

'Okay.' Draco said, making a right turn and walking to the portrait.

Snape swung the portrait open and Draco half stepped out of his common room.

'Get in.' he said, walking back in, holding the portraitdoor open.

When Draco turned back around he saw everyone was standing there, looking around them.

'So here is your dormitory.' Seamus said.

'Yep.' Draco said.

'Is that your room?' Neville asked, pointing at the left door.

Draco nodded.

'The right door leads to Hermione's.' Draco said.

'Cool place.' Dean said.

'Erm thanks.' Draco said.

'What's your plan?' Harry asked after everyone was silenced down a bit and was looking at Draco.

'Well obviously, we have to find Hermione.' Draco said.

'But how?' Neville asked.

'That's the question I was hoping one of you would have an answer for.' Draco said.

Everyone shook their heads.

'Great.' Draco sighed.

'Maybe a tracing spell?' Ginny suggested.

'There is none.' Luna said.

'None that we can use.' she added.

'What do you mean?' Draco asked.

'Well there is a tracing spell, but you'll need two wands.' Luna said.

'We've got more than two.' Ron said.

'But they have to be bonded.' Luna said.

'Oh.'

'Your wand and Hermione's wand don't happen to be bonded?' Ron suggested hopefully.

Draco shook his head.

'I don't even know if she has her wand.' he said.

'She always takes it with her.' Harry said.

'I meant to say; if nobody took it from her.' Draco said.

'What are we going to do.' Ginny said hopelessly.

'We'll find her.' Harry said, wrapping his arm around her.

'I just don't get why they took her.' Ron said.

Draco shook his head.

'Why her? It's not like she's special or anything.' Ron said.

'Not like that!' Ron defended when he got a look from Draco.

'Ron's right, of course she's brilliant and all, but it's not like she has something that nobody else does, except for a huge brain capacity.' Harry bit his lip.

'I know, that's something I can't figure out.' Ron said.

'There is only one thing that comes to my mind.' Ron said.

'What could have made someone to kidnap her.' Ron said.

'And what is that?' Seamus asked.

But Draco had felt it coming and was hoping no one would ask.

'Him obviously. If a Death Eater found out he was dating a muggleborn, or someone of his family who's on the dark side, they would've found it necessary to take his girlfriend away from him. As a punishment.' Ron said.

'RONALD WEASELY!' Ginny said.

'Maybe it's time for you to back off?' Ginny suggested.

'What! I'm just telling what I'm thinking!' Ron said.

'It's okay Ginny.' Draco said when she wanted to say something else.

Ginny gave him a sad look, but Draco gave her a reassuring smile.

'It's okay.' he said again.

'We're not really getting somewhere if we're going to go on like this.' Harry said.

'So let's not think about why Hermione was taken, but how we're going to get her back.' Harry said.

Hermione slowly opened her eyes. Her sight was very blurry and she couldn't see clearly. When her sight was normal again she still couldn't see anything, because it was dark. She had a blindfold in front of her eyes and she felt her hands and legs were stuck in chains.

She tried to get the blindfold off by shaking her head, but it didn't work.

She sighed.

'Hello?' she whispered.

Nothing.

'Someone?'

And again nothing.

Hermione gasped.

'George.' she whispered.

Hermione felt pain coming up in the back of her head when she thought back to the moment everything went black.

Draco woke up around 3 AM. It took him a long time to finally fall asleep, but now he had woken up, he doubted he would be able to go back to sleep any time soon, so he got out of bed and walked into the common room. He sat down in front of the fire and stared into it.

'Hermione, where are you?' he whispered.

'Why her?'

'Was it really my fault? Is Ron right?'

'Don't think like that Mister Malfoy.'

Draco looked up and saw Snape standing in the portrait, looking down at him.

'It's not your fault, no one could've predicted this.' Snape said.

'But what if Ron's right? What if she was taken, all because she's together with me?' Draco asked.
