A forced marriage

Everyone was busy eating their lunch as today was Sunday and therefore Winter family was spending sometime together. Not to mention that it was worse time for Giselle.

"I have to attend a function at capital next weekend." Mr Carter casually informed everyone but specifically Giselle. He was trying so hard to gain more power and right now in this house only Giselle was the person who can help him.

"As the daughter in law of Winter family, I want Giselle to take part in the elections for mayor."

Giselle looked up trying to understand what Carter was saying. Her eyes met with the eyes of Simon who put his spoon back in the plate.

"What....what you mean?"

"Someone has to take care of Mayor's position. What about I will help you with it and you help me with the elections for Senate."

"And why would I do that?"

"I heard you wanted to open a hospital in our village."
