chapter 3

back in the office. Percy was shuffling through the files of the suspects. First suspect. a customer who was seen at the store by the time it all happened. Alexandra wood. 32, female. was about to leave the store when the criminal entered.

according to her, it was around 12:17 when she walked in the store and 12:50 when she walked out. she said that she brought 2 breads. the murder happened at around that time. suspect said that when she paid up, she was about to walk out while the tall man (about 180cm according to what she said) walked into the store. After that, when lady was few meters away from the store, she heard short screams. (why would she not go check it out what was happening?)

- in this. there are some missing things in this though. why did it take her  about 30 minutes to get 2 breads? and also why didn't she check what was going on after hearing screams? she could've called the police or ambulance at least. let's call her in the office, we gotta clean up some things.

- yes thats exactly why she ended up on the suspect list. First of all she refused to answer my questions it took me quite the time to make her spill everything. and secondly she avoided lots of questions.

- let's get her interrogated once more.

- second suspect on the list. janitor who works at the store. Edward Smith. 35 male. started working at the store onc it opened and has been working there ever since. as he said, he was on a break when everything happened. On his break he was out to get lunch. Once he was back, everything was over. the floor was covered in blood and the cashier was laying there. as he mentioned, the lady was still alive by the time he got there but couldn't be saved.

he was the one to call the police.

- why's he on the suspect list.

-i haven't filled out some things but the reason he got on a suspect list is that his break usually starts at 13:00. the murder happened around 12:30 according to the reports to 911 reports. so if the reports were around that time, some minutes must've passed from when someone breaked in. either way, Mr Edward was still at the store when it happened.

- in this case, we also have more proof that lady alexandra was also there when it happened.

- exactly.

-what about the guy from the bookstore?

- well, both of other suspects described the same figure. tall, around 180cm, slim body and black clothing. which matches that guy's appearance.

- I see. I can't see his files here though.

- that's because I still haven't had him in the office. for now, we have to interrogate remaining suspects, we also need to find witnesses and also interrogate them. we have to collect all the information we can. and also we don't have much time left. you never know what criminal is going to do next.
