The explosion wasn't to the scale that the sky lit up or a giant fireball was formed. Instead what happened was the ground began to rumble. Shortly after, smaller sequential explosions sounded off one after the other as a chain reaction occurred and soon the earth beneath the army's feet began to crack and give way. Shockwaves from each explosion shook and shifted the dirt like an earthquake and stone that was once bedrock now began to slough off and cascade toward the ravine. The worst of the explosion might have been a ways away, closer to the centre of the army, but the effects of these smaller detonations could be seen throughout the road.
